It’s becoming a guilty pleasure of mine to stop by Fry the Coop on the way back from a long shift and using that as an excuse to eat out. I love their Tender Plate. The chicken is well spiced and flavorful, and the fries are well seasoned. It checks every box in my list to a good meal!
Be warned that their spicy levels should be taken seriously. If you can’t take the heat. Keep it medium at max.

I could not believe my tastebuds of just how delicious their chicken is. And their loaded fries were amazing. All the toppings just enriched the whole meal. Milkshake was also so creamy. I loved everything about this food. The restaurant was clean and staff was super nice and friendly. Plenty of parking too. Just a great location and amazing food.

And the good omg the food so fricking good man 10/10 recommend. The Nashville chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had!! The slaw and coop sauce make a perfect combo!

Dude. Out of this world awesome chicken sandwich. I LOVE spicy. Spicy spicy. Their insanity is too much for me, someday I’ll get there. The “crazy” was perfect. Every bite was amazing. The coop sauce isn’t too much or too salty, really the perfect balance. Will absolutely be trying some of their other stuff while I’m in town.

Service is amazing, they quickly fixed my incorrect order with no fuss. Sadly the chicken was tough and bland despite the wonderfully flavored dry rub for the hottest spice. Similar spice level to famous Dave’s hottest, or bdubs desert heat. Coop sauce is great, but couldn’t compensate for the sadness of the chicken. Fries were the star of the show. I guess fry is in the name, chicken is not. Solid mid. It’s better than canes / 10.

To start off, this is the BEST fried chicken sandwiches/tenders and nuggets in the state of Illinois and I stay 10 toes down on that statement. The service was immaculate, went in with the wife and daughter and son immediately greeted at the entrance. Loved the fact they had pipeworks had a a few brews before I ordered my personal food but my daughter loved her chicken tenders plate I got her the adult one instead of the child one for the fact I knew I was going to finish it and for my wife and I we both ordered sandwiches and orders of tender plates! The atmosphere is great super relaxed music is great. Food is fresh to order I couldn’t be happier with my experience I came here specifically for mother’s day and bad a blast and delicious food thank you!

Fry the Coop has some of the best hot chicken around. Each of their spice levels uses a different pepper (‘mild’ is cayenne, ‘hot’ is ghost pepper) and are way spicier than most other places–order accordingly! The fries are great and the donut sandwich is delicious. Prices are high but not outrageous, expect to pay $11-13 for a combo without drink. Bolingbrook is lucky to have a place for genuinely HOT Nashville chicken….be sure to have some ice water handy!

Great looking place. It has the feel of a Nashville chain restaurant and a southern BBQ vibe inside. Service was friendly. The food though is not to my liking. The chicken and waffles …the waffle gets mushy too quickly and is not as dense as it should be. The chicken is very tender and juicy, but they go too thick on the breading. Honestly, it’s the waffle that needs revamping! The Mac n cheese was okay but we both thought the flavor was off on it. I might go back, but not in a big rush. I would recommend Fry the Coop because it may be right in the wheelhouse for some chicken lovers.

Fry The Coop offers a vibrant and satisfying experience for anyone seeking fried comfort food with a flavorful twist. During my visit, I ordered the Messy Fries topped with crispy chicken and their Spicy Butter sandwich, both prepared at a mild spice level. The Messy Fries were a standout – crispy yet tender fries generously topped with juicy chicken, providing a delightful balance of textures. The Spicy Butter sandwich was equally impressive; the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, maintaining a crispy exterior that contrasted beautifully with the soft bun and creamy, mildly spicy butter sauce. It’s a dish that hits all the right notes without overwhelming the palate.

The staff at Fry The Coop deserves special mention for their friendliness and willingness to help undecided guests navigate the menu, adding to the welcoming and casual atmosphere. Price-wise, Fry The Coop strikes a balance, with offerings that are neither too pricey nor too cheap, ensuring a great value for the quality of food served.

The interior of Fry The Coop is spacious and thoughtfully decorated, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for diners. The ample seating ensures that even during busy times, customers have space to settle in and enjoy their meals without feeling cramped. The decor has a vintage, Americana-inspired feel, with nostalgic signs and vinyl records adorning the walls, adding character to the space. Subtle string lights across the ceiling give it a warm, laid-back vibe, making it a great spot for both groups and solo diners. This unique setup further enhances the dining experience, complementing the flavorful food and friendly service.

However, one point of note is their use of beef oil for frying, despite offering halal chicken. While this may not affect all customers, making the switch to a fully halal preparation would certainly broaden their appeal, especially given the substantial Muslim community in the area. Adjusting this aspect could open the door to an even wider customer base. Overall, Fry The Coop’s food and service make it a delightful spot for fried chicken fans, with just one tweak needed to make it a fully inclusive favorite.

The food was really good. The messy fries were a huge portion. The chicken was fresh and well cooked. I really enjoyed everything we ate. I think the sandwich prices were a little higher than they should be for the area but the food was good.
