I visited Frutas Los Chicos in Kissimmee and everything I tried was full of bold flavor and fun presentation. The hibiscus tea was refreshing with just the right touch of sweetness, and the fruit cup with chamoy was a perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy.

My ultimate favorite was the mangonada, it was icy, rich in mango flavor, and had that spicy chamoy swirl that took it to another level. I also tried one of their pickle treats that was rolled in candy and coated with chamoy and Tajín, and even though I forgot the name, it was one of the most unique things I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and made with care.

I recommend to everyone, go try it at least once! You’ll love it.

If you’ve never had a chamoy pickle before, just know: this is a snack that does the most—sweet, sour, spicy, salty, all at once.

Chamoy Pickle Fruit Tray – (Orlando, FL) Frutas Los Chamacos

Quick confession: I had no clue what chamoy actually was when I ordered this. I went strictly off the picture because it looked like a wild combo. For anyone wondering, chamoy is a tangy, salty, sweet, and mildly spicy sauce made from pickled fruit. It’s a big deal in a lot of Mexican snacks and candy—and it’s meant to be bold, messy, and over the top.

Visually, this was definitely colorful and eye-catching. If nothing else, it gets a lot of curious looks while you’re walking around.

The pickle itself was just okay. Quality matters with this, and this one was kind of limp under all the syrup and chamoy. Wrapping it in a fruit roll-up? Honestly…yuck for me. The textures did not vibe. But to be fair, everything seemed fresh and well-prepped—it’s just not my kind of snack.

What worked:
✅ The fresh fruit mix was a highlight. The watermelon was super refreshing with the chamoy and chili powder. The cantaloupe was my least favorite—not because it was mushy (it was actually nice and firm), but because I just don’t really like cantaloupe.
✅ The spicy candy straw was fun—sweet heat with a chewy kick.
✅ The peanuts were just okay in my opinion, but if you love peanuts, they’d be a great crunchy contrast.

Personally, I’d skip the actual chamoy next time or go extremely light with it and just flavor everything with original or flavored Tajín plus the other toppings. It would probably be a lot more enjoyable (and less sticky) that way.

It was about $12, which feels a little steep for something I’d never order again. But if you love bold Mexican candy flavors, you might appreciate the whole experience more than I did.

And look—maybe this is technically a kid’s snack, because if not, it probably should be. A fruit roll-up wrapped around a pickle is a diabolical combination. Like Takis dunked in cheese dip—fun until it isn’t. RIP to your insides. Unless you have good health insurance and an active living will in place, you might want to go play around in another snack’s face.

Important Note:
This wasn’t in Columbus, Ohio—this truck is at The World of Food Trucks in Orlando, Florida.

If you’re in Columbus and want to try something similar, here are some spots to check out:

La Michoacana Mexican Market
(Morse Rd & Georgesville Rd locations)
Known for chamoy fruit cups, mangonadas, and sometimes chamoy pickle trays. #LaMichoacana Lamichoacana

️ La Plaza Tapatia (Morse Rd)
Mexican grocery with a taqueria and snack bar—lots of chamoy-covered fruit and candy options. #LaPlazaTapatia La Plaza Tapatia

Fruteria y Neveria Tropical (Westerville Rd)
Small shop with fresh fruit cups, elotes, and chamoy snacks. #FruteriaYNeveriaTropical Fruteria “Yummy Fruit”

La Super Torta (Cleveland Ave)
Has chamoy drinks and spicy candies. #LaSuperTorta La Super Torta

Chamoy Candy Columbus (Instagram sellers)
Local vendors that sell chamoy pickle kits and fruit roll-up combos by preorder. Chamoy Candy

Overall, it was fun to try something this different and colorful—even if I’ll pass on round two. If you’re curious, definitely give it a shot. Just be ready for a flavor adventure (and maybe bring a few napkins).

I was looking for strawberry Fresca, but I tried their strawberry Horchata instead. I’ve never heard of it before let alone tried it. It was a beautiful marriage of Horchata and strawberry flavor! The service was friendly and inviting. The lady working there, smiled at me as I was walking around. If you like Horchata and strawberry, I highly recommend.

The best food truck in food trucks heaven! Service is spot on, the atmosphere is great and the aguas frescas here are excellent. I come here regularly, the cantaloupe and the cucumber lemonade are the most refreshing of them all, the other ones are as good too.

I got a mangonada that was cute and loaded with candies, chamoy, and a mango. It was tasty and definitely enough for like three people. The food truck was also cute. There was a bench with umbrella for seating too.

don’t waste your time coming to this food truck, extremely unprofessional and a waste of time. came 2 separate times and location was closed even during businesses hours. finally called to see what time they would be open, owners stated 4pm showed up at 4pm no one there, called said they would be open closer to 5 and their employee is 20-30 mins out, asked if we could wait which we did and no one ever showed up
