We were traveling from Georgia to Colorado and got hungry along the way, so we decided to stop at Frumpy Joe’s — and it turned out to be the best decision we could’ve made. From the moment we walked in, the staff was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. You can truly feel the love, warmth, and generosity of joyful people in this place. Frumpy Joe’s has such a genuine and caring atmosphere that it makes you feel right at home. 
The restaurant is very clean, well-organized, and has a cozy, inviting vibe that set the tone for an amazing meal. 
The food was delicious, far better than what we expected to find on a road trip stop. We especially loved the Reuben Corn Beef Sandwich — it was the best choice we made that day, full of flavor and perfectly prepared.  Every dish came out well-prepared, with generous portions and great taste. The prices are very reasonable, which makes the experience even better. 
The service was fast, attentive, and genuinely warm. We didn’t expect to find such good food at a random stop on the road, but we left very surprised and very satisfied with how tasty everything was and how well we were treated.
Definitely a spot we would return to without hesitation. Highly recommended!

The total and complete Ma & Pa experience and all that entails. If you leave less than a 5 star review, it’s because you have never had to make it on your own. This family strives for quality and excellence while making it feel like home. I had the ‘Make Your Own’ burger of 1/4 lbs fresh ground beef patty with peanut butter and jalapeños. Which I can’t get anywhere. Kimberly and Rick were the hostess with the mostess! The food was perfect, the atmosphere was spot on and the company was delightful.

Our friends told us about this restaurant. It is located in a very small midwest town. When we ate the delicious home style cooking in the restaurant, it felt like we stepped back in time. The food was delicious, the server was very nice and informative. We talked to the owners who care about what they serve and taking pride in what they do. Make sure to save some room for bread pudding desert! We came between after lunchtime and dinner so we didn’t have to wait.

My husband and I stopped by here on a Thursday night when passing through and we really enjoyed it! I ordered the fried chicken special and it was very delicious, with a good crispy breading! My husband had the catfish and said that it was really good as well. Additionally, our server, Sue, was super friendly and made the whole experience welcoming! We took a slice of Eclair cake and Peanut Butter Gooey Butter to go. I highly recommend this place to anyone who gets a chance! We’ll definitely be making a return!

This was probably one of the best experiences in customer service, quality of food and positive environments I’ve experienced. This is one of those rare off the beaten path restaurants that can’t be missed. From the first step in, you’re treated as family. The food is beyond better than the price paid. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. A huge thank you to the staff working!
The photos do no justice, there’s a ton of food and it was not possible to eat it all but we wanted to and will as we were allowed to take the leftovers!

Phenomenal food and service. The gumbo is next level! I had the frumpys burger with mac and cheese the pattie is large and in charge. Partner had the pulled pork with baked beans he said it was delicious!. 100/10 will come again.

Out freaking standing. We have not been back in some time. The new managment has a commitment to scratch cooking. We ordered the fried chicken special. The chicken was fresh cooked, the mashed potatoes were grime scratch – lumps and all. The gravy was to die for. And even the green beans were absolutely delicious. Folks you need to visit this restaurant in Jonesburg, Mo. only a mile off of I70.

What a unique and excellent restaurant. The gumbo is made in house and it’s the best I’ve ever had! The cajun chicken Sandwich was also very very good. We talked to the owners. They make everything in house and are very proud of their food! I would highly recommend Frumpy Joes to anyone. Thanks for your hard work and dedication in this restaurant.

Happened to stop in on fried chicken day, and, oh man, am I glad we did! It was deliciously light and crisp and the accompanying green beans were fresh and oh-so-tasty! The owners told us the story of rehabbing the place after they bought it – they definitely take pride in the cleanliness of the whole restaurant and the quality of the food!!
