Frothy Monkey is an independently owned all day cafe, specialty coffee roaster, and neighborhood favorite. Frothy serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner options from 7am – close every day with beverage options including specialty coffee, craft beer, wine and cocktails. Food and drinks are made from scratch using original recipes and thoughtfully-sourced ingredients from regional farmers and producers whenever possible.

What a groovy place! Used to be a train station, and the way they use this space for the coffeehouse/cafe is super cool.
I set up my workstation here on a less than crowded day, and the staff were kind enough to let me work at one of the tables for the morning.
There are many unique coffee concoctions, and the food is also delicious. I particularly enjoyed the honey mascarpone spread on the biscuit board I ordered.
The staff is friendly and conscientious. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in Chattanooga.

I ordered the Monkey Mocha Latte which was great. My issue is there was a communication disconnect between the kitchen and café. I ordered a bacon egg cheese bagel sandwich to go and it was not crowded, I waited over 30 min as nice as they were about it, my sandwich was now cold after sitting on the counter and it barely had bacon on it…after reading the other reviews they had similar experiences as mine.

This is a 2 hour experience though. You’ll want to pay for 3 hours parking.
Awfully long waiting time (after you sit down). Every table in there would agree. I even heard the table next to me inquiring about their food after waiting over an hour and a half. They were not even that busy.

Salsa
I usually just come for coffee but this time I decided to try the food and was really disappointed. We waited over an hour for mediocre, bland sandwiches. It was a little busy, but not full, so I really don’t know why it took so long to make an egg bagel and turkey sandwich.

Frothy Monkey never disappoints, but the real highlight of my visit was the incredible staff. Erin and Malcolm were absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. They made the experience feel personal and memorable, not rushed or transactional. You can tell they truly care about the guests and take pride in what they do. Great vibes, great service, and great people. Huge shoutout to Erin and Malcolm for making my visit exceptional. I’ll definitely be back!

Coffee and drinks were pretty good. The French toast with spiced peaches was yummy. The main breakfast dishes were not terrible but could have been better in the sense of having potatoes or another side. The grits were pretty runny and tasteless, not your typical thick grits. I would say I was expecting a lot more from the service and ambiance after all the positive reviews I read prior to coming. It was Sunday morning breakfast time and you could hear a pin drop in the restaurant, really awkward silence all around. Some low music could’ve brightened up the atmosphere. The restaurant was not full but there was a wait for the food and drinks, not sure if this was them being understaffed.

Our waitress Abbie was absolutely amazing—so friendly, patient, and attentive from beginning to end. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us with the sweetest attitude.

Halle and Kat made the experience amazing. The perfect mix of modern flare and the charm of a train station. It was a great brunch location. The food was excellent. A lot of what they serve is made by Frothy Monkey. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m passing through. I highly recommend it.
