So we’re returning from FL to Detroit. Half the fun is finding great restaurants. If you like down home cooking, this place is for real. I had perfect fried chicken, not too salty, wonderfully whipped potatoes, slaw and biscuit. I knew I’d made the right choice when the sweet tea was good.

If you are traveling I-77 and have a hankering for a good home cooked meal, you must stop at The Front Porch. The atmosphere is probably not everyone’s taste, but I loved it. There are china hutches a fireplace and an old upright piano scattered about the dining rooms.

This is an honest to goodness, down home kind of place, that offers genuine home cooked meals. The food is amazing and the prices more than reasonable. If, we lived local, my husband and I, would be eating here quite often.
