This a hidden gem in Roanoke. They do have some great menu selection. Found this by accident, got to talk to the owner and his wife. Wonderful friendly people. He took time to explain what their food is, ingredients and how it’s made.

Got their drink, don’t remember the name but it’s milk with orange juice. Bought empanadas and went back for more.

If you are looking from Dominican food, look no more. You want to come here for sure.

As a Latina, this restaurant makes my heart happy! I felt right at home (a piece of New York) in the heart of downtown Roanoke! Order the Chicharron & Tostones today, you will not be disappointed along with ALL the other options they have available on the menu. I will be back soon!

Wife and I are from Queens, NY living in Texas for 3 years. We’ve been looking for a good Dominican spot for a while. Ladies and Gents, we found it.

We ordered a Chimi, Bola de Yuca, Picadera, and Arroz con guandules y pernil. We felt like we were back home. My wife even made references on how it reminds her of how the food is in DR. We absolutely loved every bite.

We were attended by James and he was exceptional. He’s also a native New Yorker from Dominican Republic.

I’m telling you, don’t sleep on this place. The food and service are A1. Gracias James y familia por todo! Nos vemos pronto!

I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars. The owner is from the DRC and very passionate about bringing the taste and authenticity of her flavors to Texas. Could not recommend this place high enough. It’s inside of a building named The 206, just go inside and you’ll find her.

FrituWhaa has genuine cuisine and flavors and a tested and successful menu to please even the pickiest palates. More importantly, they have the BEST Cuban sandwich between Roanoke, TX and Miami, FL. It’s billed as Dominican cuisine, but all the flavors and heart of Caribbean cuisine are here. If you are on the fence wondering if the drive here is worth it, stop dithering. Don’t miss this place, especially if you want a real Cuban sandwich.

An amazing place, amazing people, and amazing food! We ate at Frutiwhaaa and the food was all so good. This place is almost a hidden gem as it’s not obvious from the outside that your walking into a food hall. Have others in your party that want something different? There is lots to choose from and open seating in the middle for all the resturants. There is also a bar if you want to grab a drink. Bring the family, bring the kids and enjoy a nice relaxed outing.

I’m so sad to write this review as I was so excited to try this place.

I was ok with the rice being hard

But the chicken being undercooked and all different pieces was weird.. it seemed old like it was at least a week old.

The worst part was that there was hair in my food.

I won’t be back here ever idk what type of business they running but no

The food here was absolutely phenomenal — full of flavor and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite. The service was just as great — friendly, welcoming, and full of Dominican hospitality. Highly recommend this spot!
