From what I observed this place is very popular. The interior of the deli is a bit cramped and the line a bit hectic. The deli had a decent variety of food items (hot, cold, sandwich, salad, breakfast etc..). Metered parking with in close proximity.
This was my first time visiting here and I’m disappointed. I ordered the Turkey Supreme and they forgot the bacon. This speciality sandwich is priced at $9.75 and it was merely mediocre without the bacon. The sandwich needed that extra layer of flavor. I have gotten better sandwiches closer to home for half the price. I don’t think I would come back here.

Sent a co-worker to pickup a large pasta with chicken and broccoli rabe. small normally 12.99-14.99 depending on person at register. Ordered the large and charged 29.99 +tax. Absolutely outrageous !!!! Food is okay but not worth $30 for pasta. Its a deli not a restaurant. So lunch is $30 now. Pasta was cold and garlic barely cooked. I will no longer be eating here and I will let everyone know how expensive it has become. Very disappointed!
Have gone to this deli over 20 years. Have had a few issues over the years but nothing like this.

A Bacon, Egg & Cheese is a little pricey imo ($7+) but it had crispy bacon, toasted bread and mayonnaise as requested so I can’t complain. The buffet styled food looked delicious MAYBE I’ll try it next time.

Terrible bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Shameful. That’s a NYC staple. How do you mess that up?? I’ll tell you how. Get the order wrong twice, then make the sandwich on day old (or older) stale rolls. Whatever you’re saving by serving stale rolls, you’re losing 10 fold by losing customers. Do better and only serve fresh food!

I would have given it a higher rating for taste but the overall rating is a 3 out of a 5. Mainly because of getting undervalue. Paying over $12 for corn beef hash and getting mainly potatoes with a niblets of teeny tiny pieces of cornbeef. I ordered breakfast, the toasts were loaded with butter, limited choices customers can make. In the world we live in now- it’s take it or leave it.

I Just had to write a review for this Deli. I was a little hesitant to order our Thanksgiving dinner from the local deli. The food was just amazing!!! Everyone went back for seconds. The turkey was delicious and all the side dishes were tasty! They delivered the food right on time and steaming hot ready to serve. The Staff at Friend’s were very accomodating. I highly recommend for any event you are planning.

Most of the items seem to have good prices till you realize that they nickel and dime you, for instance an egg sandwich is only $2.20 on the menu but after you add bacon, cheese, and tax your almost at $5. Most of their sandwiches are like this, hero starts at $6.99 but then you add lettuce for a quarter, tomato, cheese then tax your at $9. You can get a named sandwich that will include whatever is specified for an out the door price of $8.62 but as is generally the case with places that have many sandwiches with names attached, it won’t fill you. On this occasion I ordered the “meltdown” which is roast beef with melted mozzarella on garlic bread hero. The hero seemed to be a club roll (poor quality bread my pet peeve with many deli’s, the use of cheap bread); the garlic covered the taste of the roll and the meat was of good quality and tasted good, but I could have eaten 2 or 3 of these, so I wouldn’t call it a good value. From looking at the menu it seems the best value here is the create your own salad, you tell them 5 items you want in the salad from a decent sized list and your out the door for about $6.50. If you want a good sandwich you need to try Sal, Kris, & Charlies for a cold sandwich or Bassett for hot or cold; they both use good bread and you won’t walk away hungry. In the case of Sal, Kris, & Charlies you may not be able to walk if you can finish the whole thing, the Bomb.

poor management on GrubHub. Had to wait almost 2 hours for my order. If it wasn’t for me calling them asking where my order was, I wouldn’t have received my food. A delivery driver does not come to them and pick up the order, the employees here “deliver” the order themselves.

So, I grew up in this neighborhood, and I remember as far back as when they put up that ugly sign with a chef leering over a serving platter. In the subsequent years, I never actually ventured in, mainly because the outside is so incredibly unappealing. However, in my post-college penny pinching, Seamless brought us together.
I placed the order over the phone, the guy who answered was very nice and even though he had some trouble understanding me, managed to get my order modifications done correctly. I tried the buffalo chicken wrap, with bleu cheese dressing on the side. This bleu cheese dressing was next level, I don’t know where they get it from, but it was on the strong side and made for an intensely delicious lunch.
The crowd that congregates in this place is also quite unique. I was interspersed with MTA bus drivers on break, as well as the kooky and quirky locals, sometimes it’s cathartic to bask in all its glory, and even though it’s reasonable, I won’t be doing delivery just for the people watching.
