So, as you may or may not know, yesterday, I went to the Bristol Friendly’s as my reward for going 2 months without hitting, swearing, aggression, and/or any kind of physical assault. For my appetizer, I got the sampler platter. Always get the French fries, waffle fries, and chicken fingers. Next, for my main, I got the double all-american cheeseburger with waffle fries. Finally, for my dessert, I got their retro royal banana split. Always get that when you’re in Bristol. It’s good. Anyhow, the food was great. I did not finish it all, I had part of my leftovers for breakfast today. I would definitely come again. Thank you SO MUCH!

Friendly’s, originating from Springfield, Massachusetts, should consider returning to its foundational offerings to reclaim its unique identity in the competitive restaurant landscape. The classic patty melt and the distinctive Watermelon sherbet are examples of menu items that could enhance the brand’s appeal and nostalgia. Additionally, leveraging Mr. Cone Head as a mascot could engage younger audiences and differentiate Friendly’s from other establishments. By emphasizing these unique elements and refining their overall franchise approach, Friendly’s could strengthen its market presence and attract more customers. A focus on what makes them special is essential for standing out in today’s dining scene.

My son and I went for ice cream. I told our waitress my son doesn’t like chocolate and to please use vanilla ice cream in his monster shake. She said ok. When she brought our ice cream my son’s shake was made w chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. It had chocolate sauce all over it. It took me almost 10 minutes to find someone to inform them of the error. My sundae was really good! They ended up making my son a new shake.

The food was gross and for the price you pay, ridiculous but this comes from the company they buy it from mostly, fries don’t taste like Friendly’s fries no more, the chicken tenders are the size of nuggets and you pay 15-17 dollars for it, all I can say is at this location the manager busts her butt to keep things “going” We barely ever go to friendlys but I wanted to get my nostalgic chicken tenders platter on my bday of all days and it was sad, understaffed, the cooks were serving tables and the manager was doing EVERYTHING…. They deserve more….

Ordered a couple days ago and was very disappointed, got 2 entrees one of them they didn’t give me my side. The tuna melt was the littlest bit of tuna it was basically a grilled cheese with a single piece of craft cheese slice microwaved on in the middle of the bread. Spent $40 very highly disappointed. A tuna melt should not be 1% tuna 2% cheese and 97% toast. no wonder they shut down most Friendlys it was the cheapest thing i’ve ever seen. As someone who can never finish an entree ever I could have ate 4 of them.

I understand wanting to make a profit but when I ordered 2 bowls of beef & barley (was told they only had 1 left so I got 1 chicken noodle) and got home to pictured soups (roughly $7 each) I was a little peeved. And thanks for the fork & knife packet for my soups. I used one of my soup spoons to illustrate how shallow these containers are.

We typically travel from Southington just to go to this friendlies in Bristol because the decor is always amazing and you can tell they put a lot of effort into ensuring a great experience but I do have to say that we visited on Tuesday and the service was absolutely awful. They only had one server on and she didn’t come back for over 10 minutes to check on us to see how our food was and I was a little upset to begin with because as soon as she brought the food out you could tell that it was all burned. We had 2 young kids with us so it’s not like we can just sit there while they make us new food because our kids would be done by the time they came out so we ended up just eating it and then when she finally came back I asked her if we could get a complimentary ice cream or something because we barely got to eat our food because it was all burned. She said well you guys ate it so there’s really not much else I can do and I said well, what else were we supposed to do but eat it we can’t sit here and wait another 25 minutes for more food to come out so then the manager came over and she was clearly very inexperienced and basically gave us an attitude and said the same thing oh well, you ate it instead of so sorry that your food was burned. It wasnt even eaten, I ate what I could. We’ve never seen any of these people any of The Times that we’ve been to this location so it probably was just an off day but I don’t know if we will be making the 25 minute drive to come out just to visit that friendly’s anymore which is disappointing because normally it’s a really great experience but that was just really awful service and to really awful food.

My kids love Friendly’s chicken fingers. I personally don’t like the food but I try to bring the kids a few times a year. This restaurant is pretty clean and the staff is nice. Our waiting time has never been too long.
