I’m surprised I hadn’t discovered FRIEDA before knowing they’re approaching their 10th anniversary. The seasonal menu is really nice — omelettes and quiches are great. The pastries are made fresh in house. The almond chocolate croissant was almost like eating dessert. The space also features art and handicrafts from regional artists, with rotating pieces on the walls available for sale. It’s a pleasant spot to eat and browse. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

We loved Frieda so much that we went three days in a row for breakfast—and on the third day, I even woke up early to go before catching my flight! The food is world-class, the staff is world-class, and the atmosphere is just as special. It’s rare to find a place that nails both food and ambiance, but Frieda does it effortlessly. Every visit felt like a delight, and I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Philly. Highly recommend!

Their quiches are amazing! I had the quiche Lorraine and it exceeded my expectations. It was crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, balanced flavor and all in all delicious! I would absolutely recommend this! I also tried the almond and chocolate croissant which I wasn’t really impressed with, but it was good. I would expect more flakiness like a butter croissant but it was ok. The salad – I had the goat cheese and raw beet salad. Fresh and crispy however the dressing was overpowering citrus-y and ruined the experience for me. I should have tried it first before I dumped it all on the salad. So if you do get that salad, try the dressing first and then dress your salad accordingly.
The service was good and friendly. My food was ready in a timely manner and I had it to go, which they had thoughtfully prepared in a bag with everything I needed – even an extra set of utensils (one for the salad and one for the quiche – thank you for that, Frieda!)
I love the idea of bringing people together and gaining wisdom and experience from our elders. I loved everything about Frieda and will be back!

My go-to brunch spot this side of broad street :^). I love Freida’s European flair (tiny water glasses, muesli, excellent patisserie) and their artistic community-oriented mission. It’s exciting to see a new art installation practically every time I visit.

The service is excellent, the tea list is on point, and the menu is clearly labeled with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. The continental breakfast is something to behold — I haven’t found anything quite like it in Philly. The staff is warm and welcoming, and I love the family atmosphere.

The food was very fresh. The coffee was good. The service was good and attentive. The pastries tasted amazing. The produce was fresh. Everything here was very good. Food came quickly, and everything was made to order, which you can see from the seats. Overall, it was very nice quality. Atmosphere is a nice busy Cafe feeling.

On the morning of Tuesday, November 18th, I was out on on a photo walk at the Penn’s Landing Pier. When I finished I had worked up quite the appetite, so I headed to the closest brunch spot. Can’t believe I’ve never heard of this spot as it was absolutely delicious. Rather small inside, but has a cute little intimate vibe going. decorations were beautiful. I got the Apple French Toast paired alongside a hot matcha. They were both absolutely delicious, chorizo & eggs were pretty tasty as well. The staff were some of the sweetest people I’ve interacted with all day. Despite my empty social battery at the time of dining, the young lady hosting was the sweetest and served me wonderfully. The other gentleman also made me feel quite welcome. Rather expensive($30+tip for 1) , but that’s what happens when u eat in parts of the city exclusive to old white people and Drexel Nepos. Nonetheless, Breakfast at Frieda is a cheat-code for a start to a perfect day. Tea time and weekend brunch also sounds exciting!

What a delightful morning for the senses. The tiny waffles paired with a fluffy light and absolutely memorable whipped cream with condensed milk on the side and very fresh, sweet, and juicy strawberries. The Kouign-Amann queen of croissants lived up to its name and paired amazing with the left over whipped cream. The lemon scone may have been a bit in the dry side but the flavor was great! All in all a cozy cafe worth going back to.
