Really good wine. Lackadaisical service. Had to ask for snacks! Nice enough fellow greeted us at the door. We enjoyed. View was great!! Played crazy eights!

Pros:
-Nice view
-The wine we had was good

Cons:
-There is no wine menu? The owner came up to us as if making small talk, asking us what kind of wines we like, then left and brought us two glasses of wine that, admittedly, we enjoyed. But she never told us that she was going to pick our wine for us, so we were sort of blind-sided by this method. Then, when the bill came, of course it turned out each glass was $17/each, whereas we probably would have picked something cheaper.
-The vibe, partly because of above, was just generally uncomfortable. The owner is a little too talkative and sort of chased us out. Including my wife and I, during our one-glass stay, 3 other couples came, had one glass, and quickly left. One couple came, sat, obviously became uncomfortable, and left without ordering anything.
-There is no food despite this being advertised on their website.
-The fact that this place has 15 5-star reviews that are out of this world (and mention the owner by name) tells me that the owner has 15 friends who left her good reviews, which is a bummer and partly the reason that I decided to leave a review. Our experience was VERY discordant with the other reviews.
-I hate seeing businesses respond to negative reviews by being aggressive and rude. Just suck up your pride, write “we’re sorry you had a bad time”, and try to please the next person. I guess we’ll see if I get a response.
Overall, 2 stars for a nice view and good wine, but the no-menu thing and the overall vibe here were major detractors. Like I said, we quickly left (and had to make up that we had dinner reservations because the owner asked us why we were leaving…).
In the future, consider saying to your guests “I can get you a wine menu or I can pick a wine I think you might like based on your taste and price point”. We would not come back here.

Friday Harbor Skybar is such a unique gem with a beautiful view of the sound, and it’s a must stop if you’re visiting the island. Bex, the owner, came out and spoke to us about the wines, and her journey to start the skybar. She is incredibly knowledgeable on all things wine and had just the most interesting stories to share. The weather was beautiful, but a bit chilly, so the heaters came in handy.

Skybar is a little difficult to find – but SO WORTH IT! To find Skybar, head up the stairs as if you are going to Tops’l Sushi and Seafood Restaurant. Go all the way up until you get to the rooftop/top floor and SKybar will be right in front of you! They had the best wine selection we found in Friday Harbor with lots of different types of tasting flights. We even bought a few bottles to bring home. The owners were super friendly and enjoyable. We had the whole patio to ourselves and they turned on the propane fire pits for us and were very generous with their pours. Even though it was a rainy evening we were warm, cozy and dry — the views of the water and ferry are spectacular too! If you like wine and in Friday Harbor, you have to check this place out!

Best view in town! If I was staying on the island til the Fourth of July this is where I’d watch the fireworks. The owner Bex is the best. She is incredibly knowledgeable about wine and gave us great wine recommendations. If you are a wine lover come here! If you’re not, there are also great beers and non-alcoholic options. Just sit back and enjoy the view and the company!

We stopped in here in the evening and had a really nice experience! The view was lovely and some of the tables have small fire pits in the middle to keep warm. We came in as a group of 5 and asked to order a bottle of red wine (they have everything in glasses or flights on the menu) which they accommodated, and the WA wine was great. Very friendly staff, too. I’d highly recommend stopping in.
