One of the worst experience eating out here! First time feeling unwelcome. We had a tattoo and slick back hair waiter that barely served us but was flirting with all the girls and being super nice to the locals. Raul and older gentleman finally started serving us and made it better. We were about to just walk out. Food was good but I’d never go again.

I won’t deduct a point for this being the first Mexican restaurant to not serve chips and salsa. The place was on the higher scale of restaurants in the PR, with the valet parking and the controlled entry. The food was pretty good and the service was great. I would recommend if you are on the right side of town to stop on in. I got the white fish, rice, and salad. It was seasoned very well.

For me, the sign of a great restaurant is being consistent and inviting you not just to order your favorite, but explore the menu and always ask if there’s any specials that day. That’s what Frida’s is to me. Although everyone will have their preferences, for me the benchmark of a good margarita is this restaurant and to keep me happy, you have to come close or equal. Rarely have I had a margarita I’ve enjoyed more but for the sake of keeping it real, let’s say it’s possible. Let’s also clarify that every time I go and take that first sip, it’s almost a salty benediction. For starters, three of their four soups are amongst my fav (Caldo malinche if you want something light, Sopa de Tortilla for something savory and cheesy, and Lamb Consommé if you want a soup for a meal. In addition, they often have pozole which is a hearty soup that is good to the last bite. As far as other starters, I’ll admit we keep it straightforward, either pico de gallo con aguacate y queso (avocado and fried cheese) or refritos (refried beans) with chicharrón (pork rinds). When we get to the dishes, that’s when I find some of my favorite dishes ever, filete toluqueño con salsa cuitlacoche (toluqueño filet with cuitlacoche/huitlacoche corn truffle sauce). It is hearty and has so many layers of flavors. They have a decent variety of tacos, though for my money, either Barbacoa (lamb), Cerdo y chicharrón en salsa verde (pork and pork rinds in green sauce), Carnitas ribs, or ordering two different flavored tostadas should all offer great options and for chicken, you can go with the fajitas or ask for chicken in mango sauce and if you can handle the spice, ask for it spicy. This has been a staple of ours for years and if you also have a sweet tooth but not too sweet, their Manchego cheese flan is worth the calories and then some. In short, I keep going and bringing people because I love the place, love the people, and of course, love the food. So cue up a margarita or mezcalita and salud.

Food sucks, not Mexican. Rice and beans good. Worst enchilada I have ever had. Loud foolish waiters. Secret price for overpriced margaritas: 15 bucks. Just a bunch of cheap tequila and packet mix. Worst tortillas, local super market packet. Guacamole from Costco packet. Beef and pork had the consistency of donkey. Mole sauce was flat, weird. Local cliental don’t know any better. I have been here five times over the years and it just gets worse. Finally, I will never go back. A curse upon this dump.

Absolutely delicious food! We went with the servers recommendation (can’t remember what it was called though) and we loved it so much we ate every last bit. Very good place to get a local lunch or dinner, plus the art and atmosphere were very fun and unique. Would love to eat here again!!

A bit of Mexico in Puerto Rico. I love Mexican food and this place was a bit of a surprise. You instant feel like you are in Mexico City. Decor was on point and if you are a fan of Frida Kahlo you will love it. Food was good , not the best and a bit on the pricey side but I enjoyed my Tacos. Missed those Mexico prices (Lol). The servers were really nice and provide with recommendations and were very attentive. I recommend this place but be aware that you will spend a bit.

The staff is outstanding: friendly, focused and very attentive and accommodating..fun yet professional. The food is consistently wonderful and high quality. The restaurant is comprised of several cozy brightly rooms yet you feel your table is privately set and well arranged by staff. Frida s is far from the tourist path and the difference is clear.
