Outstanding Mexican food — worth going out of your way
Frida’s is the kind of place that reminds you why great local Mexican restaurants matter. Everything we had was excellent, but a few dishes really stood out.
The birria tacos are a must-order. Perfectly crisp tortillas, generously filled with tender, flavorful beef, fresh cilantro and onion, and served with a rich, deeply seasoned consomé and lime. Dunking those tacos into the broth is next-level comfort food.
We also had a chimichanga smothered in a creamy white sauce, topped with fresh lettuce and tomato, with fluffy yellow Mexican rice on the side. Crispy on the outside, hearty and satisfying inside — pure comfort food done right. The steak and shrimp plate was equally solid: well-seasoned, nicely cooked, and filling without being heavy.
The restaurant has a warm, relaxed vibe, and the service was friendly and attentive without rushing us. Chips and salsa were fresh, the sauces had real heat and flavor, and everything came out hot and well-presented.
If you’re in Virginia and craving Mexican food that’s clearly made with care, Frida’s is absolutely worth the stop. We’ll be back .

Absolutely delicious! Wish they had more tables and less booths to make it fat friendly. But it was great. My only complaint is the cheese dip was so liquidity I could have drank it.

I ate it right in my truck on the job site and still felt like I was at a restaurant. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and totally worth it. During my initial experience with this establishment, I encountered a minor issue with my food order. I promptly contacted the staff and spoke with a young lady who kindly informed me that I could return to have the dish remade at no additional cost. Upon my return today, the manager/owner initially expressed some hesitation in honoring the previous arrangement. However, he ultimately made the commendable decision to rectify the situation and provided me with a complimentary meal. I am pleased to report that the second time around, the food was delectable, and the manager demonstrated professionalism and courtesy throughout the interaction.

Good little Mexican restaurant. Has some authentic style foods but also some americanized dishes. I got a pastor taco and a steak taco. Both were good and decent amount of meat. Also got a small shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was a little too sweet for my liking but was packed with shrimp. Also got a michelada that was really good. Service was great and restaurant was clean.

A delightful experience. Friendly staff and quick service. My son gave the tacos 10 stars. The pork and shrimp were cooked perfectly. We just missed happy hour, but the drinks were reasonably priced. The house margaritas were good. We are passing through town, and it was a solid pick for Mexican food. I would recommend it to anyone in the area. I went there on a Saturday night. Not sure why the place wasn’t busier. The food is tasty, well seasoned and cooked well. Their non alcoholic piña colada is cheap and delicious. The service was also great! I would definitely recommend and go back.
