Freycinet marine farm is a Tasmanian owned oyster and mussel farm that has a farm gate cafe. We farm our oysters and mussels in the amazing waters of the Tasmanian Freycinet peninsular. We are located on the way into the Freycinet national park, on your way to the beautiful wineglass bay. We also prepare other local seafood cooked to eat in or fresh for you to takeaway to enjoy on a beautiful beach or in your accommodation. We sell local wine and beer. We have a large car park and toilets. But our seafood is our hero, love from the ocean. Lookout for us when you are on the Great Eastern drive, South of the bay of fires. We are open 9-5pm, kitchen closes at 4pm

Oysters were good, I still prefer the Bruny Island ones but these were still fresh and also great price at $28/doz. Abalone was nice and tender. Scallops were the small Tasmanian scallops, the sauce was very tasty, with a thick slice of bread that was super saturated in butter and sauce, it was so crispy and soft! Also tried the Moules Mariniere mussels, the sauce was great, they were the tiny black Australian ones and I don’t know where they source their mussels but these were the freshest and sweetest mussels I’ve had in Australia! Every dish was about $30 each.

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy Monday afternoon. Fishburger and Fish of the Day (Flathead). The Flathead was delicious, maybe the best fish I have had so far in Tasmania. Its not a fancy setup (order at the till, pickup round the corner) but the food was very good.

One of the most iconic seafood restaurants in Tassie. The entire outdoor seating area’s floor is made up of oyster/mussel shells. Food was exquisite. We got 6 oysters with a fresh lemon, moules mariniere and Tasmanian scallops. The seasoning and sauce of the mussel dish was the best I have had anywhere so far (and I’ve tried the same dish in several places around the world, especially France). Would come back there without hesitation as the quality was just superb.
Keep up the great work!

Came early and shop was already busy. Don’t miss out on the mussles, they were my favourite with bread to soak up the remaining sauce. The scallops were succulent and sauce was light which complemented the scallops well. The mediterranean oysters had too mich breadcrumb which overpowdered the oysters so would that a miss.

Great friendly lady at register. Recommend by someone to come. Oysters natural were the best. I would recommend the Asian dressing to be cold not warmed. As it is more refreshing and light. We also had kilpatrick also and lovely salmon sashimi. There was an open air area still in the shade. Not far from Bicheno so an easy trip for lunch.

After a brilliant couple of hours on the oyster bay farm tour (which I can’t recommend enough if you like oysters) we stopped in the restaurant for some scallops and chips – they were the best and the cheapest we had during our time in Tasmania – a must try!! We had the oysters and the mussels during the tour and both were exceptional – not possible to be any fresher

The oysters they serve are huge and 200% freshness!
Loving the environment too.
We went early in the morning so no crowds no waiting!
Definitely will come again if we re-visit Tasmania.

Tasmania Scallops are phenomenal! It’s really flavourful and cooked just right! Not tough at all.

Mussels in Sri Lanka curry are full of coconut creamy taste.

The oysters are just so-so though.

Excellent experience. We had natural oysters, Mediterranean oysters, moules mariniere, and fish and chips. Everything was delicious and the seafood was very fresh. Cozy atmosphere and very reasonable prices. We’ll definitely be back!

WOW, a great experience with excellent seating & atmosphere. Having ate various oysters across my trip in Tassie can say these were the freshest. The scallops were cooked to perfection with a great sauce licked clean off the plate, would’ve like a bit more bread for the $30 price. Fish and chips were super crispy with the softest fish inside.
