Julia was our server and even though the restaurant was very busy for a Monday, she definitely listened well to our questions and took it upon herself (with full responsibility) to ensure that our wishes were met. Amazing service, thoughtful, accurate and timely as well!

Jackie and I decided to go out for our anniversary. Normally we don’t go out much due to everyone using so many onions in the local quisine. We understand the use of onion in many situations, however, her reactions to biting into a stray onion often ruins the entire experience and makes it very difficult to eat anything else for several hours.

We have not had this kind of experience and or pleasure of outcome with the meals we chose since we lived in Seattle (15 years ago) The Red Thai Curry was so amazing, it reminded us of her favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle…not only that, this meal rivals anything we have had in larger cities around the United States as well as anything we have experienced on Mackinac Island! Simply wonderful, all around!
I ordered the Kalbi (Korean) beef tenderloin and it was also amazing

Amazing food, tremendous staff, and excellent views of Lake Michigan. Our waitress Jordan was funny, knew the menu from back to front, and made our night even better than when we sat down. The drinks were perfectly crafted at the bar. Highly recommend the Terrace Bay Hotel attached to the restaurant as well.

Came in for our 20th anniversary dinner. I saw a review on the Butter lettuce salad and I’m happy I tried it. One of the best salads I’ve ever had.
The seafood bisque was incredible. Street corn was also the best I’ve ever had.
Had a great meal and wonderful service by Teagan.

My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful Valentine’s Day here. Our waitress Dani was amazing. She upsold us on an appetizer, dessert, and drinks. She was so pleasant, informative, and a delight! She absolutely made our night! The atmosphere was a 10/10, the food was reasonable and delicious, and the service was amazing.
Thank you for a great night.

Josh was our server. Stopped in as we are visiting from out of state. There was a short 15 minute wait for a table. The view of the lake was nice to have. The dining area was nicely filled. The food and service was just okay. Having a nice place to eat with a view would be the reasoning for why I would recommend coming here. It felt like a local favorite, but the food just wasn’t top notch. The food wasn’t bad though either where taking it back wasn’t needed. This isn’t a review of being upset, just disappointed as expectations were higher. Looking forward to trying again one day when back in the area.

We stayed at this hotel. And we liked the hotel room a lot. They’ve got a great thing going. And when we sat down for dinner, the tone was very different. It was far too bright, far too crowded and far too loud for such a beautiful setting. I wish they would just dial it in a little bit, add some dimmers on the lights. Add some sound absorption. Add just a little bit of softness so that the dining environment can meet the quality of food you’re trying to serve. Please add some calm and chill. That would serve you so well. I would stop here every time I drive across the UP, which is quite often.

I will surely stay at the hotel again but until they change the dining atmosphere I won’t be eating here. I wish them good luck I know they’ve got a lot of good innovative ideas.

This place just needs some careful dialing in. Adjust the atmosphere to match the quality that you’re trying to offer.

On a busy night, they got us close to a lake view without reservations. The server was all over substitutions, had excellent recommendations (Dani knows this menu!) and was so accommodating.
The food was truly MEMORABLE. We both had seafood dishes and they were excellent, to include the accompanying sides/sauces.
What a great LOCAL DRAFT BEER MENU! And Michigan mead, too!
We had such a good food here, and the service was fantastic! Highly recommend.

We just popped in here on the way to Escanaba for a quick bite to eat and had no clue what we stumbled upon. The views were fantastic (too bad it was a grey day, but still lovely). The wait staff was friendly, had good recommendations and when we told them we were trying to make it to a store before they closed they made sure not to dilly dally. Perfect. The food was the biggest surprise – it was outstanding. Cudos to the kitchen team! I had an enormous dish of blackened salmon over a creamy and spicy pasta. Took leftovers home and they were still delicious. My husband had a Thai style dish and it was scrumptious. It was a little pricey but compared to others well worth it. We will be back with friends! Definitely give it a try! (There is also a hotel and Bigby coffee on site).

As a Celiac traveler this was my favorite stop of our trip. Freshwater Tavern had many gluten free menu options, knowledgeable staff, and even a GF dessert. My meals were brought out by a separate wait staff, with clean gloves. They really knew their stuff. Our waiter knew right away that I wouldn’t be able to have the potato side that came with my meal (due to shared fryer) and was quick to suggest a baked potato instead. The food was fabulous, and our whole family ate well, and enjoyed dessert. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely return!
