I brought my mom here for her birthday and she said it was the best birthday meal she’s ever had. We both agree this is the best Indian Food we’ve had in all of Canada, I was shocked at the affordability of the food considering how delicious and beautiful it all was. We were even able to take home leftovers for a picnic the next day. Immaculate service and atmosphere, would give it 6 stars if Google allowed it.

I’m a freelance secret consumer for several outlets, and this month I’ve been hired to review Indian buffets in Victoria, B.C. I’m going to start writing brief synopses of my experiences and the articles/reports I submit, and post them on Google for the public to enjoy.

Fresh Tandoori Flavour is a very solid option for Indian food in Victoria/Oak Bay, especially considering the price point. Every dish we had was fresh and well-prepared, with good flavour and balance. Extras like the mango mousse and even the Caesar salad were surprisingly good touches.
The space is clean and casual with comfortable booths, and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. One thing I really appreciate is you can eat and work for several hours without any pressure to leave, if there’s no rush of customers. There’s also no loud music or televisions, just a relaxed, easy-going setting.
While it’s not my absolute favourite spot in town, it’s easily on par with the best buffet restaurants in Victoria for quality and value.
Friendly service, good food, and very reasonable prices make it a worthwhile visit if you’re in the area.

We love the food here. The takeout is a great value. The relaxed atmosphere and good parking make it preferable to some of our old favourites downtown. And, as we are still wary of covid/flu, we’ve noted that it is well-ventilated and we feel a bit safer there. My wife is celiac and has never had an issue with the food.

Got the beef vindaloo, and naan. The vindaloo tastes really weird.. like I’ve had it from a lot of different places and this was like no other east Indian food I’ve had. It was like weird flavored tomato sauce like they order in large cans and don’t actually even make it. The beef in it was good, tender.. the naan was not stretched enough so it was really thick and gummy in like half of it. The rice was really dry and old tasting. Plus it all came cold so I had to reheat the whole meal (ordered on Uber eats, so not necessarily on them for that part) . Wouldn’t order again based off the quality of the food.

The food was delicious and well-prepared, with great taste and presentation. The service provided by Kavi and Sukh was excellent. They were very friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of on time. Their positive attitude made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great dining experience and would definitely recommend both the food and the service.

Update: Since our last review below, we have now been there an additional four times. The food at the buffet section was really tasty, the price is very reasonable and excellent value, the bistro is quite quiet and the staff are pleasant. We really look forward to each visit. This a great place to treat friends and relatives.
My wife and I have eaten here twice this year. We really enjoyed the lunch buffet. All dishes were good, but especially the butter chicken, curry beef and mango mousse. Staff were friendly. Seating and privacy were fine. This buffet meal is one of the best we have experienced in Victoria. We highly recommend the Oak Bay location and we look forward to returning again, with only a five minute walk away.
