We are so grateful for this little neighborhood gem. What started with a gift card from my neighbor has turned into at least a 3x a week visit at various points of the day. Some mornings I’m craving their chai; others, a Roseway Punch smoothie. Some afternoons the veggie sandwich calls to me, and recently it has been their harvest salad special. Goat cheese FTW! Sometimes after work I pop in for the groceries, from fresh avocados, local tortilla chips and salsa, or a bottle of reasonably priced vino. On most trips, I can’t leave without a delicious chocolate chip cookie. The food is great, and the atmosphere and folks working there provide a little bit of sunshine on even the grayest of days. If you are looking for a way to make a difference with your dollars for a local small business while enjoying wonderful food in a cozy and welcoming space, drop in and check out Fresh Love.

So happy to have found this neighborhood spot. The mocha latte was rich and creamy. Their breakfast sandwich with pastrami was 10/10! goat cheese and squash toast was so good and creamy. Juice was a bit watered down but not bad. Would come back to try more items on the menu!
Covered patio available for outdoor seating

I had the veggie sandwich and it was delicious! It’s such a cute place with nice folks and I can’t wait to go back. Besides food prepared for you, they have a little market, eggs, milk and so much more. Local coffee and snacks too!

Fresh Love on Fremont is exactly what its name says — you can feel the love in everything they do. From the moment you walk in, the energy is bright, welcoming, and authentically Portland. It’s clean, cozy, and has that neighborhood gem vibe that makes you want to stay awhile.
The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with intention. You can taste the quality ingredients — everything feels nourishing without sacrificing flavor. Whether it’s a smoothie, juice, sandwich, or salad, it hits that perfect balance of healthy and satisfying.
What really stands out is the people. The staff is kind, patient, and genuinely happy to be there. It doesn’t feel rushed or transactional — it feels like community.
If you’re looking for a spot that feeds both your body and your mood, Fresh Love is it. Five stars all day. ✨

Fresh Love is a neighborhood gem, curating delicious, healthy, tummy filling meals. They have a beautiful selection of sandwiches and salads, something for everyone, whether you are a carnivore or a vegetarian. Their veggie sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had. They always have in-store baked cookies that are amazing. And if you have not tried their smoothies, the Schuyler’s ‘s the Limit is my personal favorite, you must go and try. In addition, they also house a mini market with wonderful local brands, anything from pasta to fruits, eggs, sauces, marinades, etc. this is a full service stop and above all, the husband and wife team, Ben and Serina, who run this café, are some of the nicest people you will meet. They are so involved in the community, you want to go there just to help them, but will find yourself eating some of the freshest, best food around. It’s a win-win!

While on a recent trip to Portland, I was reminded how awesome the food culture is in that city. A friend recommended Fresh Love as a great little neighborhood sandwich shop. What I discovered was a labor of love, and a treasured hang out spot for locals. While peacefully eating my delicious turkey sandwich and knocking back a beet juice, I watched as folks streamed in, meeting one another, chatting with the staff, and enjoying their meals. They carry a selection of local goods as well, and after chatting with what turned out to be the owner, I discovered that they spend a lot of effort maintaining relationships with local organic purveyors for as much of their product as they can. Oh, Portland… you are lovely!

My favorite neighborhood spot! Very welcoming atmosphere, delightful local art adorning the walls, delightful staff, wonderful service. Amazing and creative very fresh food in generous portions, brilliant juices and smoothies, espresso drinks, home baked goods, and an organic local grocery store. Honestly, who could ask for more? Also a great place to meet neighbors and build community. A true blessing to the hood. Recommendations? The hot pastrami sandwich, the turkey sandwich, whatever salad they have at the moment, the Eugene smoothie if you want fruity, the Schuyler smoothie if something more hearty is your craving.Ooooh, and add a shot of espresso to it. <3

Fresh Love is the best community cafe around! It is a true gem of the Roseway Neighborhood. They have amazing coffee, sandwiches and smoothies, and the staff are always serving it up with a smile. I feel so grateful to have them within walking distance- besides breakfast or lunch, it’s a great place to pick up a gift like a bottle of wine, or to grab fresh produce, milk… or Honey Mama’s chocolate!

Fresh love is a cherished part of my weekly routine. I regularly come for the coffee and stay for the chocolate chip cookie. When they are out of their very popular cookies, I also enjoy the other sweet options. They have rotating art exhibits and regularly host fundraisers for the local schools. Definitely worth a visit.
