I have been waiting for this buffet ever since I arrived at my cousins house in Granite Bay from Wisconsin. This did not disappoint very nice it had an ample amount of other foods(after all it is a Sea Food buffet). Our server was awesome very nice with a personality to match. The only thing I can give feed back on is they could use better Sea Food utensils a lot of other places have the scissors for the lobster tails and the cracker and pick. Over all I would definitely come back. The crab legs were ok but felt they were a little salty but still enjoyed them. Thank you for a wonderfull experience.

The service is second to none. They really hustle to clear your table of plates and getting you timely refills.

The worst part about this buffet is unfortunately the food.

Thursday Night “Surf and Turf” featured rock crab and claws. Which would be a good value, except the crab is very tough or overcooked. Almost felt twice reheated. The carving station meats are also very bland and need to use a little more seasoning. Even the fried items were overcooked and burned. I informed management and they replaced the crab with more over steamed crab!

Friday Night was a light improvement with lobster tails, whole lobsters, snow crab and the usually bad claws and rock crab. The lobster tails are decent but can be a little tough if not squishy and not fresh at all. There’s not much to eat here. The vegetables are spicy and not made well. The dessert station is pretty good, but that’s all they really have going for them.

I really loved today’s experience! I went there last year but found the lobsters too salty. But today I came again, they were perfectly cooked and we enjoyed our meal with unsweetened tea. The lobster tails were delicious.

An abundance of lobster and crab! They literally give it to you in buckets. The prime rib was also great. This buffet does have the big ticket items and it’s all cooked well. They’re weren’t too many supporting dishes. when o was there. I felt like they needed more items. My dinner didn’t feel like it was worth $60, but maybe that changes if you keep going back for more lobster and crab. I was surprised that the price was the same for lunch.

An update:: 11/07/24 Here’s a change. Hard rock casino has advertised Thursday night as surf and turf with steak and snow crab. Price is 29.99 per person.
Well with little notice and customers in line at the cashier’s, after you pay they tell you it is no longer snow crab, but “rock crab” an inferior grade crab with little taste and hard to crack. Terrible, don’t do it
Well you would think for the price, that this casino buffet would rival the great casino buffets in Reno and Las Vegas. Not a chance!!!!!
We have not patronized the hard rock casino located in Wheatland CA., since before the COVID pandemic. Now we know why.
The food quality is mediocre at best. Our food needed seasoning, so we added salt to almost everything. The taste was so bland. In addition, the carving station, that included, beef brisket, new York strip, kielbasa, roast turkey and ham. The meats were so dry. The kielbasa was cold. I asked for medium rare to rare new York steak. They had to bring out another roast, and it was still dry.
The other food stations included, Italian, american and Asian cuisine. The dishes were limited. 4 or 5 dishes at best.
Since it was a Friday, their claim to fame was lobster and crab.
The lobster was ok, but not the melt in your mouth lobster meat I’m accustomed to. The crab included dungeness and snow crab. It was fresh and the dungeness crab was sweet and the meat firm. I don’t know where they acquired the crab, since it is not crab season in California, but it was good.
The salad and dessert bars were also limited, and the offerings didn’t taste sweet. For instance the apple crisp was way to tart for us. We ended up selecting just a plain dish of mango and strawberry ice cream, as well as an ice cream sandwich to satisfy our sweet tooths.
With limited casino buffets in Northern California, we are kind of stuck with what we have.
Over the Sierra’s in Reno, NV though you have some great offerings for the same price.
We will wait to get our groove on when we visit Reno and Las Vegas, and not feel ripped by the quality of the buffets in Northern California.
Alas, both the Pala and Barona casino buffets in southern California have also closed permanently. They also compared to the best Las Vegas buffets had to offer.
I don’t think we will return to the hard rock casino buffet for a long time.
Update: 10/24/24
Visited on a Thursday night. The price was 29.99 per person (adult). It was surf and turf night. I know we said we would not come again for a long time, but they offered us complimentary dinners.
So on with the review. Difference between Friday night lobster night and Thursday night surf and turf. Not much. Just no lobster, but 30.00 cheaper. Same dishes, the meat carving station was a little bit better. Meats (tri-tip) and herb sausage were more succulent and not dried out, grilled vegetables included carrots and bell pepper. Italian station was still the pasta and pepperoni pizza. The Mexican station, included chilli Colorado (I prefer chilli Verde,) refried beans, mexican rice, chicken taquitos, and shrimp fajitas with corn and flour tortillas. The chilli Colorado sauce tasted more like canned chilli beans with very little meat in a scoop. The mexican rice was fluffy and not stiff, the shrimp fajitas were excellent though, well flavored, but small shrimp. I needed jalapenos and salsa. The chicken taquitos were cooked well not crispy burnt, but lightly cooked. They offered guacamole, salsa and pico de Gallo on the side.
There was a very small Asian section that offered white rice, sauteed bok choy, veggie egg rolls and pork won ton. The won tons were fried too long though, making them hard to eat. The veggie egg rolls on the hand, were cooked long enough to cook the inside ingredients, but making the contents flavorful, tender and moist and the outside roll just crispy enough.
They have a small section for make it your self salads, and a small dessert area, with ice cream, cookies, brownies, and some cake.
A better option in price is the Thursday buffet, rather than spending an extra 30.00 just for lobster.

We just finished the seafood buffet, I want my money back $125 for 2 people. The lobster was ok but everything else was absolutely gross. I don’t know who they have cooking but they need to hire new cookers. I should have just ate my money it would have tasted better. I want my money back ,also it looked like a a rundown hometown buffet but worse.

I had been here once ~3 years before and was not impressed. I’m pregnant and was really craving seafood and it was very difficult for me to consider spending my evening coming out here due to the reviews. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Four lobster tails, two sets of snow crab legs, a perfect, flavorful and juicy medium t bone steak, and an ice cream sandwich to finish it off. My kind waitress brought me drinks as requested. Some folks behind the carving station seemed a little stressed when slammed with t-bone requests but others were serving with smiles. So happy I decided to come- it’ll be the place for me th next time the craving strikes!

My first experience here at the buffet. The whole lobsters are great. There also snow crabs and Dungeness crabs that are come with. The salad bar is a joke. The desserts are amazing. It is good for the price and I enjoyed. Only complaints, I had a hard time getting my refill.

For the price of around $57 for a dinner buffet on the weekends, I thought it was overpriced. No typical food items like you find at similarly priced buffets. No salmon, no clam chowder, very little shrimp offerings, and crab legs were okay. The food stations were very limited. And the only thing that was very good there was their lobster tail and whole main lobster.

Nice seafood buffet but definitely room for improvement for the price being charged.

Came in on a Saturday for lunch and got seated upon arrival. What promptly filled in our drink request and off we went with the food offerings.
Has the usual offerings of Italian (pizza and some pasta), Asian (Chinese food) and international stations (crabs and lobster). The seafood was nice, snow crabs, dungeoness, lobster tails(Australian) and whole lobster(Maine). The lobster was good, sweet and fresh. However the Maine lobster was a bit rough, probably cooked a lightly longer. The snow crab was a bit salty and the dungeoness crab was bland. I had it without any sauce which normally everyone engulfs with sauce. Aside from that, they had ny steak roast which was a bit rough than prime rib. The fried chicken which they had drums and wings, was pretty tasty. The batter fried shrimp was ok. That was it.. pretty much all the food offerings at the time.
The desserts were ok and doable.

What they could provide were some better soups and bread(didn’t see the Hawaiian king bread). Also some mussels or clams or even some oysters will be nice. Some Mexican items, like tacos and birra meats or even some chips with salad would be nice. Definitely need some more cooked varieties of veggies and better servings of fruit.
