A blessing. Well-staffed and everyone was happy and helpful. You can tell they earned such a good kitchen and that they’re proud of it.
The breading is crispy, seasoned well, some heat but nothing crazy, good pepper flavor, can stick well enough to the chicken and with the sauce it’s just amazing.
Thankful to have this in the H.

A gd H town institution. Frenchys used to not look like this but the flavor is still there. If you went to UH you were blessed with some of the best fried chicken around. It’s a beautiful thing to see how it looked like v the new location now.
Now I’m aware this isn’t exactly a new location per se BUT I hadn’t been to Frenchys since Obamas 2nd term, just never worked out I dunno. Bae also went to UH so we decided on stopping by after the football game and let traffic die down.
Chicken Tenders 8/10 – they do fried chicken right. Flavor might be an 8.4 but there was this weird end that was drier than the Sahara. That taste lingered.
Red Beans and Rice 7.5/10 – too runny and not enough rice. It needs to be soupy but with some something ya know?
Bae got the wings combo and loved it. I mean it’s Frenchys, even when it’s bad it’s good.

Chicken had a peppery flavor and was juicy. There’s no spicy flavor but the combo comes with a jalapeño pepper. You get a choice of cornbread or roll and 1 side. Overall, the chicken was good but the cornbread and dirty rice were not that great. Cornbread was a bit dry and dirty rice was too mushy. Also, they don’t serve mash potatoes and gravy anymore which was a huge letdown.

Ordered two piece chicken with red beans and rice, cornbread and drink. Chicken was very seasoned. After three scoops of the beans and rice, it’s gone. It should be a larger portion. Cornbread was good. Asked for Arnold Palmer in drive thru, be once at window, received sweet tea only. Might return.

We ate here for lunch , I love the building and outside area.
We got the king plate, the chicken had alot of fat, every bite was crunchy but had jiggling fat inside.
No hot sauce, so I spend .50 cents on a jalapeño . There is no napkins outside the counter. You get 1 ketchup packet and a wipe inside the bag.
The people behind the counter were nice and all had something to do.

We drove from Fresno, TX to get chicken from the legendary Cullen location. The chicken was absolutely awesome as we remembered. However, we felt disappointed with our sides. The fries didn’t have the seasoning that they once did and they didn’t seem very fresh. We were supposed to receive a large red beans and rice but were given two small containers which didn’t equate to a large size. The taste was fairly good. We ordered a tailgate order and I must say overall we didn’t feel as if we received our money’s worth. I’m not sure if we travel this far and chance this again. In the future, if we try this location again we will only get chicken and leave the rest behind.

The service could be a tad bit better, the staff that day was new so we cut them some slack. We’ve all been new at one time.
However, no complaints because the vibe was great and the food was spectacular!! I’d recommend this place to anyone that visits the area.

What can I say about Frenchies. I wasn’t ready. Hands-down some of the best chicken I’ve ever had. Crispy fries, fast, service, and friendly staff. Great location with multiple service options including drive-through walk up window. Dessert options, lemon cake, sweet potato pie, all authentic and homemade. Oh my gosh, the chicken was so tender so crispy and go with that Gris Gris sauce. H-town represent!

Wonderful place at this location. In Houston, Frenchy’s on Scott St. and the one on FM 529 are my two favorite ones. Frenchy’s is my favorite chicken spot in Houston, I hardly been to Popeyes since I moved here last year. Keep up the great job Frenchy’s. The only thing I hope you all add to the menu in the future is seasoned(creole/cajun) fries.
