We started with two beautifully presented cocktails, the Beurre Noisette and the Eau Poivre, both flavorful and fun. For starters, the French Onion Soup was rich and comforting — easily one of the best I’ve had in the city — and the escargots were classic and satisfying.
For mains, my date had the Duck Confit Cassoulet, and I had the Beef Bourguignon. Both were hearty, well-seasoned, and very enjoyable. Dessert of crème brûlée and lemon curd cheesecake rounded out the meal nicely.
Service was friendly and attentive, though a bit slow at times. The dining room felt a little chilly to me, so bring a layer if you get cold easily. Overall the food is delicious, the atmosphere lovely, and it’s a great choice for date night or a special dinner out.
The French onion soup was rich and deeply flavorful with that perfect golden, bubbling cheese top that makes you pause before breaking into it. Absolute comfort in a bowl.
The mushroom risotto was creamy and perfectly cooked, full of earthy flavor and finished with just the right amount of richness. The half chicken was stunning. Crispy, golden skin with juicy, tender meat and a sauce that tied everything together beautifully.
Everything felt thoughtful, balanced, and refined without being pretentious. The atmosphere was romantic and warm, and the service made the evening feel relaxed and special.
It was one of those dinners where you look at each other halfway through and say, this is perfect. We will absolutely be back.
The ambiance at Frenchy is cozy and inviting, which really added to the festive mood. The space has a warm and comfortable feel, making it a nice place to gather and enjoy a relaxed Christmas meal with friends. It’s definitely the kind of setting where you want to linger and enjoy the moment.
However, the only aspect that fell short was the service. We didn’t expect to receive that kind of service, especially given that it was a reserved Christmas lunch. There were moments where attention felt lacking, and the overall service did not quite match the quality of the food or the ambiance. It was a bit disappointing, as better service would have completed what was otherwise a very pleasant dining experience.
Overall, we truly enjoyed the food and the cozy atmosphere, but we hope the service can improve to better reflect the standard suggested by the menu and the setting.
Was pretty excited with their winterlicious dinner menu, it was $55 with appetizer, main and dessert, which I think it was a good deal. But after all the food were just OK. The mushroom bisque was the best appetizer out of the 3 appetizers we had ordered. The beet salad was the most disappointed one, there’s only four tiny pieces of beets hidden under the green salad, they should have called it green salad instead of beet salad. For the main we had mussels and steak frites. First of all it took a while for our main to arrive, but the mussels was just slightly warm and the broth was so little, couldn’t dip the bread into the broth until I ate most of the mussels. One thing I appreciate was the portion was pretty generous. Desserts were not that good, chocolate mousse was not rich enough even though they said they used valrhona chocolate, cheesecake and chocolate cake tasted like cheap desserts bought from Costco. Service was also lacking, not up to any hotel standard.

Service was the main disappointment. Although we arrived for our reserved Winterlicious time slot, we were immediately told, “I don’t mean to rush you, but I’m going to have to rush you because the kitchen is closing.” – Then don’t allow a slot for 1:30pm?
Throughout the meal, the server appeared visibly exhausted, sighing frequently throughout the experience. Which made us feel like we were inconveniencing him.
There were also service errors. My friend’s additional salad was forgotten and the wrong dessert was entered (we had ordered the Pur Noir Chocolate Cake but received the Lemon Curd Cheesecake).
While the server did ask if everything was okay, the reminder that the kitchen was closed made it uncomfortable to bring up also based on how exhausted he looked we felt uncomfortable to address.
We still tipped 20%, but overall I don’t know if we’d visit again anytime soon.
For starters, we had their Tuna Tartare: the baguette was so crispy, and provided a good contrast to the smooth texture of the tuna. We also tried their 1/4 Roast Chicken and partnered it Truffle Frites. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the gravy brought out its flavour even more.
We also tried their Grilled Branzino and Pommes Puree (mashed potatoes). The fish tasted very fresh and melts in your mouth, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and not overly-salted. DELICIOUS!
We also tried some of their Mocktails, specifically, “Moi” that has Lychee, Jasmine Tea, Lemon, Elderflower, and Soda, as per our Server’s recommendation– an excellent choice!
10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
week — and honestly, it blew me away. I sat at the bar and had the most amazing experience. Dallanie was behind the bar making incredible cocktails, full of creativity and flavor. Syreeta and Cassie were so welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring.
The food was just as impressive — I had the best mussels ever, and the steak was absolutely unspeakable (in the best way possible!). Every dish showed so much care and flavor.
It’s rare to find a place where the food, drinks, and service all hit that perfect balance, but Frenchy completely nailed it. Huge thanks to Dallanie, Syreeta, and Cassie for making our lunch so well taken care of from start to finish — I’ll definitely be back soon and bringing more friends and family with me!
Even though my server, Kevin, was initially a little confused when the host placed two menus on my table while I was dining alone, he was relaxed, professional, and very good at his job. I did not mind the brief wait before he came over, as I quickly understood the reason for the delay. When there are two menus on a table and only one guest, staff understandably assume someone else is joining. A clearer signal next time would help.
I ordered half a dozen oysters to start, a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the vodka pasta, though I cannot recall the exact name of the dish.
Everything was excellent. Kevin was great, and the experience confirmed why I had always wanted to dine here. I will definitely return and would gladly recommend this place to my friends, as the pricing is well justified for the quality.
One small suggestion would be to consider playing some French pop music to enhance the atmosphere and make the experience feel even more distinctly French(y)!
