As part of the Frenchette family, Frenchette Bakery brings its artisanal approach to NYC’s vibrant Meatpacking District. Located within the Whitney Museum of American Art, this 56-seat café is celebrated for its use of ancient and heirloom grains, and crafting exceptional breads, pastries, and viennoiseries. Beyond baked goods, the menu includes soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts. Set within one of NYC’s most iconic cultural spaces, Frenchette Bakery combines culinary mastery with artistic inspiration. Praised by Grubstreet, Infatuation NYC, Eater, and the New York Times, it’s been described as the right kind of museum café and a destination as much as the art.

A very convenient café inside the Whitney Museum — perfect for a quick break during your visit. They offer a nice selection of French pastries, all beautifully made. I tried the financier, which was excellent, and a fresh organic juice that was also great. Prices are reasonable considering the location.
How delicious can a scone possibly be? This was, without exaggeration, the best scone I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you.
Pastry is good (very sweet according to Asian standards).
Husband’s vegetarian meal of mushroom spaghetti (at $27 this was $3 more than my steak & eggs) was a tiny serving size, devoid of protein. Why couldn’t the menu planner add some lentils, beans or other vegetarian protein; spaghetti & mushrooms isn’t really a satisfying meal & definitely not worth $27, I had to give him some of my fries & cook him another meal when we got home as he was ravenous.
Waiters were knowledgeable & professional.
Cooking staff should be aware that customers sat next to the cooking area can hear what they’re saying, including swear words, and that casual street headwear/grubby looking baseball caps aren’t appropriate attire for an establishment that’s trying to be a little bit high end.
