American pub food and some Cajun-inspired dishes in a lively grill, with a stained-glass bar and a patio.

Stopped by this place on a whim and was warmly greeted and seated by the bartender. Our server, Diana, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and even recommended an off menu item, the Angelo (a steak sandwich with house made chimichurri on a hoagie). It was absolutely delicious! 11/10
My partner ordered the Cajun pasta, which was just okay….nothing memorable. The she-crab soup had a strong crab flavor but was a bit too salty for my taste.
For a place called “ the French quarter restaurant” the menu leaned heavily toward Greek inspired dishes, and the interior felt more like a sports bar or pub, which was a bit unexpected.
That said, overall it was a great experience definitely ask for Diana if you visit!

Our family has been coming to the French Quarter restaurant in Charlotte for over 25+ years… It is our goto spot for pregame Panthers games and other occasions. George and team always treat us like family – heck, they have become family to us (and so many others). I can tell you if the food and the service weren’t outstanding, we would not have been coming all these years on such a consistent basis. But, you combine the great people, environment, food and service and it’s a big winner, EVERY time! Thank you French Quarter team!

I’ve been coming to FQ for four years now. My girlfriend and I stop in here before every event. From NFL games, MLS games or even concerts. The French quarter has never disappointed us anytime. The service is great, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is nice. I would recommend this spot for anyone that wants to grab a quick to bite or even to have a social for drinks. If you’re ever in Charlotte the French quarter is the place to go.

The steak sandwich here used to be one of my favorites. I’m not sure what happened, but the quality has dropped over the last year or so. I used to order often and the steak would be so tender. It’d melt in your mouth. Now it’s tough, chewy and tastes different. It has made me stop coming here but I thought I’d try it again once more because I was craving it and it has been awhile… unfortunately it’s the same. I bite into it and it’s so tough my teeth can’t do much, I have to rip and pull it apart. I don’t want to fight my sandwich lol. I’m sad but it is what it is in this economy. They do have other things on the menu I’ve tried that are great but the steak sandwich will be missed.

My girlfriend and I are visiting from out of town and this place was SO GOOD! I got the monte cristo sandwich and she got the chicken Caesar wrap, I also got three mimosas and our total was under $60. Very very impressed!

Let’s talk about The French Quarter Tavern. On the menu, on Thursday’s, the special is the baked chicken. Your choice, white or dark meat. Further rested as, in writing, “the best in the free world”. Outrageous? Boastful? Crazy? Honestly, I just can’t fairly dispute that description. The chicken is marinated for 2 days, and is seasoned based on the Greek background of George, the gregarious owner, and is perfectly splendid. When served the chicken was just the right temperature, a wish of steam came from cutting into it. Moist? Sure, some people cannot stand that word but it best describes this wonderful delight. I completely enjoyed this chicken. The broccoli was also well prepared, cheese sauce right on, and the mashed potatoes just the way I like them, with a rich, but not overpowering gravy. Highly recommend. I sat outside and that really added to the experience. A great vibe from the pedestrians passing by. A happy and friendly community. Stop in on Thursday and have the chicken!!

I have been coming to the French Quarter since opening in the mid 1980s. Great service and great people. We loved all the food we have there. Chicken wings, burgers, salads, Thursday baked chicken, Friday blackened fish and red beans and rice. Come for lunch, dinner, after work drinks, and Carolina Panther and Charlotte Knights pregame. You can’t go wrong. George and his staff are great.

I love the French Quarter! It’s a fun atmosphere in Uptown Charlotte and the food is outstanding. You really must try the Greek Salad – it is so good. I am also a big fan of the Monte Cristo and the London Boil Pita…YUM!

This is my all-time favorite place in Charlotte to get lunch. I eat here at least once a week. George, the owner, and Angelo, the long-standing general manager are some of the best people I have ever met. Every time I walk in it feels like home. And the food is some of the best home-style food you can find in the city. Everything is made from scratch, great quality, consistent, and FLAVORFUL. Love it here.
