We went here for our 1st anniversary on our first ever trip to Hanoi and our experience was just amazing.
The steak we ordered was perfect and arrived really fast. It was fairly priced and the serving size was very generous. We had the pumpkin soup split into 2 and even then, the serving was still just the right amount.
The location, although a bit far from our hotel in the old quarters, was great as it has a lot of other tourist attractions nearby. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so pleasant, the tables were spaced far apart giving it a semblance of a private dining experience.
Thuy, our server, did an amazing job. She was courteous, made great suggestions and she was just sweet, talking with us about our trip and gave very useful advice. Service was over the top in the best way possible. We couldn’t be happier.
We are an LGBT couple and let me just say that they made our first anniversary super special. They came out with a cake and complementary dessert. They gave an amazing speech about love and Thuy gave us a very healtfelt letter to celebrate our night.
This was really, the best dining experience we’ve had in any restaurant, in all of the countries we’ve been to. Ever.

We had a truly unforgettable dining experience at the French Grill. From start to finish, every staff member was incredibly warm and welcoming. My husband and I travel often and have had the pleasure of dining at some of the finest restaurants around the world, but the service here stands out as some of the best we’ve ever received.
We celebrated our anniversary here on our last night in Hanoi, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The caviar was excellent, and every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Surprisingly, one of the highlights for us was a beet purée served with the Australian Wagyu—it was unique and absolutely delicious.

We visited the JW Marriott for our honeymoon trip and we were so touched by the service from French Grill. Staffs all were very kind enough to serve our table and the food was amazing. You must order the Australian Wagyu dishes — seriously, all good.

A cozy yet elegant spot, perfect for couple dates. The “pho” beef tartare was the highlight of the night—rich in flavor and beautifully presented. Our main courses, including the slow-cooked rib and the three-style lamb, showcased deep and well-balanced flavors. There can be some room for improvement with the bread butter and the pumpkin soup, which leaned a bit too salty and sweet for my taste, respectively.
The waitresses were attentive and even surprised us with a thoughtful birthday gift. Overall, a great value-for-money classic French experience

Overall, the food is delicious. The waiter,waitress and manager are wonderful. Very polite and nice. However, i ordered Lobster soup… there was the lobster shell in it. The restaurant does provide me a full refund for the soup. I really appreciate that!
