The man running the counter and who made my food was very friendly to me and the other guy there, and showed me my fries before he put the lid on them. He also checked on me to see if I liked my fries, after I sat down to eat. The vibes in the place was great too, as music was blasting and everyone was just chilling. My food came out quickly, although it helps that I came at a slow moment right before lunch.
The amount of seating is pretty good, and matches the amount of parking spots outside of the restaurant. I think there were 4-5 tables with 4 chairs, and then a wrap around table along the walls with bar stools.
Anyways, I will be returning in the future when I come to St louis again.
The menu offers a great variety of options. We ended up getting the Cheeseburger and the Mac & Crab—both in small sizes. Appearance-wise, it’s nothing award-winning, but it’s fries with toppings, so it doesn’t need to be. There were lots of toppings!
The Mac & Crab was tasty and very rich, made with real lump crab meat. The Cheeseburger was also good.
The fries weren’t too greasy or soggy. Overall, the food was good, with generous portions and fair prices for what you get.
The location is a bit past the university and gets a decent amount of foot traffic. We only saw two people working—one at the register taking and handing out orders, and the other was the cook, who was working his tail off. We arrived just before a rush, so it took about 15 minutes to get our food. We heard it could take up to 30 minutes during peak times.
While we were there, the AC wasn’t working properly, so it was pretty warm inside. Also, both bathrooms were completely out of toilet paper at the same time, which was a bit of an issue for our group.
Despite those hiccups, we thought the food was good and plan to come back. With a bit more staff focused on customer service and some attention to the building itself, this place has real potential for long-term success.
