So happy to see this terrific French Cafe with a traditional Parisian menu in downtown. Great selection of the classics plus salads and wonderful dessert display. The black forest cake to die for. Beef bourginogne and duck confit excellent. Parisian chef that cares.

Great little new gem that I stumbled upon while looking for coffee. The quiche Lorraine and it was superb. The rest of the menu looks very appetizing and will return to give a shot for lunch and dinner.

The service was great, Moe was very attentive and pleasant. He explained that 18% service charge is automatically included.
He also said that the owner/chef was from France, where she’s owned a restaurant for 1~5 years.

Pricing was very reasonable for the quality.

This place just opened up not too long ago and I was so excited to come try it out.
It’s tucked in on the right side if you’re coming in directly from the circle.
The owner is the one that does everything, but she the service is great alone was great.
The food does take some time to come out, but she does let you know in advance.

I got the escargot and the duck confit and both of the dishes tasted so fresh, and it was delicious.
I don’t think anything needed anything additional as it all comes together with what is needed.

She even offered more bread to go with the escargot so I can dip it in the sauce it comes with and it was so good. I highly recommend coming here as it is such a small restaurant that I hope it thrives and hope to come back to try more dishes.

Want to give a good summary and breakdown of the experience with this cafe. I live here in Hollywood and visit the shops and eateries often. So much in walking distance and now, a *sweet* French cafe! I found this place while talking a walk back from another local spot, Takitos. We hadn’t realized until then that there was, in fact, a small place that opened up next to our favorite reggae lounge. I’ve never gone to a French bistro, diner, cafe, nothing, so this was a great opportunity.

Ambience
So cute, so comfy. Indoor and outdoor seating configs and well spaced. I’m not a designer, but it was very classic and clean. Not overly decorated and nice wall art and mirrors.

Music
I didn’t think I would have enjoyed the music so much! My boyfriend and I realized it was French hip hop and other culturally eclectic sounds in the French tongue. I Shazam’d a few. 😉 Also not so loud you feel required to listen. Good volume for background consumption.

Service
I think he might have remembered when we stopped by his storefront last week and was glad to see us, otherwise he just looked happy to seat us! We got our drink orders in and soon after we got our food in courses. He checked on us periodically (sorry I did not get his name!) and we let him know how great each dish was. We asked if it was just him there but he explained there were cooks in the back. So apparently the quietest chefs ever were working in the back. Haha.

Food
We both got lattes, one hot and one cold. Perfectly made, sweet and real tasting—no shortcuts on the process in other words. We were given a basket of small crusty baked bread bites and the best butter ever. I wish it was warmed slightly so it was easier to spread and would have enjoyed the bread slightly warm too, but a good portion that didn’t overfill us before the main course. The main dish we got were the omelette mushroom with arugula and tomato. 5/5. Perfect amount, nice dressing, nice amount of cheese. My boyfriend got the smoked salmon and eggs with a side salad. He’s never thought of salad as a breakfast item but he agreed it paired well. Then we ended breakfast with strawberry jam and pastry cream crepes. They were chef’s kiss too! Pastry cream was heavy looking but very light and paired well with the crepes.

Cost
Everything on the menu appears to be priced well. Coffees were all about $5 which is what you pay anywhere. Crepes and breakfasts were basically all under $15. With tax and including a crepes dish to go, our bill was about $70.

The food itself was fine, but the pacing of service was extremely slow and disorganized. Our server was polite, but the overall cadence of the meal was simply unacceptable given how quiet the restaurant was.

When we arrived, there were only one or two other tables seated, so the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We ordered a beef bourguignon, a sandwich, and a pâté appetizer. About 15 minutes later, our server returned to let us know they were out of the beef bourguignon. Not sure why that took so long to find out, but I ordered the cordon bleu instead.

Roughly 25 minutes after that, the sandwich and appetizer arrived at the same time. Furthermore, oddly, the pâté came without any bread or crackers to spread it on. It took another five minutes before I could flag the server down to ask for some, which she did bring promptly once I asked.

Another 15–20 minutes passed before she came by again and asked how everythign was; I pointed out that I still hadn’t received my main course. She then told me they did have the beef bourguignon after all, and asked whether I still wanted that or the cordon bleu. I said whichever was fastest, since it had already been about an hour since ordering – and half an hour since the other meal came out.

Another 15–20 minutes later, the beef bourguignon finally arrived. The food itself was fine, and the server was friendly enough, but there was no apology or acknowledgment for the very long delay and confusion.

As a side note, when we’d walked by earlier in the week, we were told the owner was French, which added to the restaurant’s initial appeal. After this experience, I looked it up and found that doesn’t appear to be true, according to public records – which, together with the disorganized service, didn’t inspire much confidence.

Super sweet staff, great coffee, and a really cool menu. Lots of things you wouldn’t understand at first, but staff is super helpful and informative. Not to mention the cafe itself is styled in the cutest way. Overall well worth the stop!

Came here for breakfast with my husband and ordered the quiche Lorraine, French toast and crepe with eggs, goat cheese and ham. All of it was very well prepared and delicious. Reasonably priced as well. Decor is also well put together and cute. We will be returning.
