I went today with my kids just the three of us and was surprised to see a gratuity added to our bill even before taxes. When I politely asked about it, the man at the desk was extremely rude and dismissive. It honestly ruined what used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I’ve been coming here for a long time, but after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be back. It’s really disappointing to see how the attitude and service have gone downhill.

We are very familiar with Persian and Indian cuisine. Afghan foods share common flavors with these cultures, using herbs that bring out the best out of lamb, beef and chicken true to middle eastern flavors. Fremont Kabob serves delicious meals using halal meat that tickles your taste buds. Tonight, we started with the eggplant appetizer along side the complimentary the flat bread. My wife ordered the lamb shank stewed in a tomato garlic sauce. I opted for two kabobs (beef and lamb). Both came with white basmati rice that was cooked to perfection. Service was quick. Food was delicious and ambiance gave a cozy feel, accepting all who want a taste of Afghan delicacies. Table settings were covered with white paper adding a bit of elegance, aligning with fine dining establishment. I have to admit, I’m a cutlery snob so “cheap” cutlery is often something that tarnishes my overall dining experience. Call it a pet peeve, but straight edges hurt my hand and cheap cutlery often are stamped cut metal. Despite this, I would still return to try other dishes and perhaps bring my own cutlery to use. I highly recommend this Afghan restaurant.

Food took a little long to come out but it was worth the wait. Hot and fresh ingredients, my lamb shank literally fell off the bone when I tried picking it up. The chicken kofta was amazing, and the Chapli kabab platter was seasoned very well. Didn’t take pictures because I was too excited to eat the food.

We ordered takeout from Fremont Afghan Kabob and tried the potato bolani and spinach curry, which came with rice. One thing we appreciated was that they asked about the spice level for the bolani—mild, medium, or spicy. We got mild and medium, and both were delicious. The bolani came with yogurt and mint chutney, which was decent but not particularly standout.
The restaurant is right next to Chat Bhavan, and the parking lot is small, so it can get a bit crowded at times. However, the staff was fantastic, and the seating arrangement was comfortable and pleasant for dining in.
Overall, we would definitely come back to try more dishes. Great food, great service—just a bit of a challenge with parking!

The food was excellent and well prepared. The atmosphere was excellent. The roasted lamb with bread and Afghan chutney is a good combo. If you want authentic, delicious Afghan food, please come here. Thank you.

This place was decent, with good flavors, but the overall experience could have been better. Service felt a bit slow and the atmosphere wasn’t very welcoming. It wasn’t a bad visit, but there’s definitely room for improvement before I’d rate it higher.

Food was delicious. Especially the bbq items the chicken and lamb a la carte. The Kabuli Pilao was yummy. Especially with the green chutney they have. We ordered it for take away as well and that came with a tangy garbanzo salad and another cucumber salad. I wondered if you have to order that separate when dining in. I’ll remember for next time. We ordered manto as an appetizer which was a dumpling with ground beef and other sauces. They have regular seats and traditional seating. It was nice. My family of all ages enjoyed it.

I paid $16.54 for this, elsewhere you can get double size for less than $14. The guy in front desk was super nice and respectful

Flavors were really good and juicy. We liked everything we ate. The doogh had cucumber at the bottom which added taste to the buttermilk.

One of my worst experience. Staff is very rude. Make sure to check bill details before leaving the place. They charged me extra 15% ( gratuity) on total amount, excluding taxes. When asked about it the man at the counter was very rude and said it’s charge when you are a group of 6 or more. Though we were 4.
