New ownership is doing good. Open 8am-12am now and added some Mediterranean food. Ice cream selection isn’t as broad now with only chocolate and vanilla but I’m cool with it. Got a massive cup of soft serve for $4 bucks. Going to be a must for the residents of old North. The previous owners and staff sucked. So I’m glad it’s getting a new lease on life. A much needed one at that.

Edit: I’ll only go if the owner is there. Just went now and the ice cream was a fraction of what he made me and was served melted practically water w lumps. Plus the women seem to have attitudes with each other but was still friendly to guest. All around disappointing because I was looking forward to soft serve. Just had a few bites out this is all and it’s already completely melted.

It took quite a long time to place a phone order.
When I got my food the burger was cold and the fries were covered in garlic.
Has it changed hands?
The food and service used to be much better.

I ordered a double cheeseburger, and fries on 10/30/25. I live 2 miles away, and when I got home to eat it the bun was mush from all the grease from whatever meat it was, the burger didn’t taste like beef at all, completely disgusting. I ended up feeding the meat to my dog. The fries also tasted like nasty grease. I will never eat here again. Save your money people. The food quality is not the same as it was from the 80’s to mid 2000’s. Makes me sick writing this out. YUCK!!! I hate Krystal’s, but I would eat it before I would eat here again.

We grew up loving the freezer.
And it’s always a treat to be able to stop by and get something.
But when you’re craving a hot tamale and chili because it’s advertised ” full houses are back”
You would expect to get one but that person is not in. So try to order pinto beans instead but none of that either.
So had to settle for a chicken sandwich.
And was very very upset when I took a bite and realized the lettuce was slimy and brown and I know the person making the sandwich had to have felt it and at least visually seen it before they put that on my sandwich.
And it’s not like it was a $2 McDonald’s chicken sandwich, this was a $5 chicken sandwich from the freezo. All because of a $1 head of lettuce, I scraped the lettuce off my sandwich. But the quality is not the freezo we remember. Really hate to give the freezo or one star review but I have to.

The Freezo has been a Knoxville staple for many years. My family ate there frequently back in the 60s and 70s and always enjoyed it. It had been a while since I had been (like 35-years) so I, along with my mother, decided to stop in today for lunch.

It’s still the quaint little walk-up/drive-thru cash only joint with lots of nostalgia. There was only one lady working today at lunch time trying to wait on around 12 customers. I’m glad we were not in a hurry because it took a while to get our food. The prices aren’t too awful bad. I got a footlong hotdog, large onion rings, and large diet coke for $10.75. My mother got a footlong hotdog, small fries, small coke, and small chocolate malt for $11.15.

The weather was nice today so we sat at the concrete tables at the back of the parking lot and ate. I wish I could say we enjoyed our meal but neither of us much cared for the food. The hotdogs were just kind of bland, tasteless, and lukewarm. There was barely any chili on them as well. My onion rings were decent, nothing to write home about. My mother felt the same about her meal and she only ate about half of it. Maybe they were just having an off day or something but I have no plans to re-visit.

Would really love to go but they’re only open 8-5 and closed on Sundays? What kind of ice cream place is open 8-5? Even all summer! So disappointing, looks like it’d be great. I think we have given up trying to go and actually catch it when they are open.

Advertise full house. Only chili available because the person that makes the hot tamales hasn’t been in for 2 days. So Chad to order pinto beans that wasn’t available either because the person making hot tamales hasn’t been in in 2 days. Couldn’t get a hamburger because didn’t have hamburger meat. Only thing we had to choose from was french fries and chicken sandwich chicken sandwich had slimy lettuce on it for almost $30 for lunch This was beyond disgusting and a rip off. I used to brag about Frieza now it seems like it’s just beyond disappointing

Good soft serve ice cream. Had to wait for a while for our order cause there was only one lady working. They have a couple tables you can sit at outdoors.

Little bit of a wait when I went but was so worth it! Got an Ice Cream Sundae, which was perfect. Would totally order again. Husband got onion rings and a chocolate shake. He said the onion rings tasted homemade and that alone made the trip worth it!
