Great service and wonderful food. I had the Hog Heaven Duo, 2 meats, 2 sides and corn fritters. The ribs were nicely smoked and tender. The whipped sweet potatoes were delicious and the Mac and cheese was very good. I liked the smokey flavor of the brisket, but it was sliced way too thin and mostly pretty dry. The BBQ sauce was nice and helped. I’m definitely looking forward to another visit.

So we finally got a chance to checkout this BBQ joint. We got the Whole Hog meal, which is a meal that can feed up to 4 and I believe 56 ish dollars. For the amount of food received the price was outstanding, definitely got your bang for your buck. As for the food, fresh cut french fries are good. Mac and cheese very good and not overcooked(no mushy noodles). The vegetable for the day was asparagus and I don’t normally get a vegetables as a side because it always ends up being frozen not so good vegetables but the asparagus was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The baked beans were fine, I prefer mine less doctored up. The chicken wings are huge and tasty. We don’t normally order brisket because it’s just not our favorite and we both thought it was very good. Pulled pork was good. The ribs were good I like them a bit more fall off the bone but still very good. The waitress and hostess are very nice but you can be overly attentive and they definitely are. Overly attentiveness can feel pushy. If we are eating and the waitress asks how we are doing and we say great everythings good let us enjoy our food and each other, the hostess doesn’t need to come over( back to back after the waitress), it happened twice and the 2nd time we were still eating and the hostess asked if we wanted boxes, that should never be asked when the table is still eating. Again they were both very nice and I didn’t feel like it was done to be pushy but that’s how it’s coming off and nobody wants to feel like they are being pushed out the door especially when out to dinner.

Every time, we drive by we smell your delicious BBQ. Today we took time to stop by and my wife and I were delighted by your excellent prepared delicious Menu items. We started with a Poblano stuffed grenade. My wife and I shared half a hog. Yummy flavors. We enjoyed your smoke ribs that came off the bone. Chicken wings smoked with original awesome sauces. Brisket and pulled pork. Sides were well portioned. We made room to share a slice of lemon meringue pie. Freedom it was a pleasure. We will return with friends and family. Thank you for your service.

Stopped here on a whim, and I’m glad we did. You walk into a diner like interior with a heavy, smoky atmosphere. Our waitress, Lisa, was fantastic, and she also makes the desserts home made! They have some of the best wings in the area (get then smoked and deep fried… so good) I got “the Whole Hog” because I wanted some leftovers… and I’m a big guy, lol. So much food… it didn’t even look like I put a dent in it. The food was great, the prices even better. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful experience. I asked Freedom to cater a birthday party with about 25 guests. The whole process from start to finish was seamless. Renay, the Catering Manager, was fantastic to communicate with and very attentive throughout. Freedom was very accommodating regarding date/time of pickup. The food was timely and very fresh on the day of. Many compliments from my guests regarding the food, and as per usual with Freedom, the meal that was prepared for approx. 25 people probably could have comfortably fed about 35-40 depending on appetites. Not a bad problem to have, at all. Would highly recommend for future catering events.

Food was good… Only complaint would be for wet naps to be served with the ribs. We ordered the whole hog and had plenty for left overs. Service was good, very laid back atmosphere. Rest room was clean, booth seating was diner style.

Great food at great prices! Oh my…we had the Full hog and split it between 4 of us. Full hog is basically a barbeque flight. It allowed us all an opportunity to try a little bit of everything. We had wings (half smoked and half fried), brisket, pulled pork, full rack of ribs, 4 corn fritters and 4 sides. We love chili and Mac n cheese so we did two orders of each and ordered an extra side of Mac salad. It did not disappoint! The brisket was full of flavor and not fatty at all. The pulled pork was seriously the best pulled pork I have had. Chicken wings both styles were done through (nothing worse than rubbery chicken wings) and fully coated in sauce. We went with sticky bourbon and medium buffalo sauce. I preferred the smoked wings but everyone else preferred the fried. I am not a rib fan but everyone else said they were very meaty and had great flavor. We ate well and had plenty to bring home! Dessert was to go and it was a zucchini cake with a chocolate buttercream frosting..delicious! Service was quick and super friendly! Couple things to consider, there is no alcohol and a surcharge to pay with credit.

Food was not that good. The brisket was very chewy and dry, The pulled pork was missing the smoky flavor I was expecting, The fries were hard and had a very greasy taste, the corn bread was rolled into a ball, the outside rather hard as if it was sitting or stale. The smoked wings with original bbq sauce were okay, probably the best part of all of it. I’d rate this new restaurant 3 out of 10. I’ve had other bbq smoked restaurants within the area such as “Piggy Pats” in Utica, NY which blew this experience away.

My family and had an incredible experience at the Freedom Hog Shack! The food was absolutely delicious—everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous, definitely a great value for the money. The service was top-notch from start to finish, super attentive and friendly. I even got the chance to meet the owners, and they were so down-to-earth and welcoming, it’s clear they put their heart into this place. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, great people, and a great atmosphere!
