The company culture seems to nurture a sense of customer appreciation. The food has changed a little since my first visit to a Freebirds in 1998, but is still consistently quality. It doesn’t have the same flavor that one would associate with a small establishment that still marinates and grills a large flank of beef and then chops it into delightfully smoky flavored steak bits, restocking the meat as needed on the line. However that is unfortunately to be expected as a restaurant scales out and expand into markets father from their original location.

I went in today to get a quesadilla and was helped by a girl in a purple beanie she was so funny and genuinely seemed to like her job, the service was top notch from everyone on the crew! Some girl asked me if I knew who “Pibble” was and it was so funny aswell everyone was so nice and the food was great!! My kids liked it too free food, who doesnt like that?!

One month update from review below, but same issue. Wife’s freebird was bigger and heavier than the monster sized burrito I paid a premium for. Taste is great but I will no longer pay a premium for an “upsized” burrito.
Old review – Only giving a 1 star to hopefully draw the attention of the establishment. Ordered pickup and when my wife got home my Monster burrito (in the picture has a single small bite taken) and my wife’s Freebird sized burrito are the same size and weight. Difference is I paid $2-3 extra for my “bigger” burrito. Need to have some quality control or some way to make sure the customer is getting charged the correct amount for the size burrito they are getting.

Absolutely loved my meal at Freebirds! The customization options are endless, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. My burrito was massive and packed with flavor—a truly satisfying feast. The staff was fast and friendly, making the whole experience excellent. Highly recommend for a great, filling meal!

Freebirds is consistently good for us. We go here as a fallback option when we can’t make up our dang minds about where the heck to go for some cheap food. Their menu has changed slightly over the years, but I always just get the Freebirds chicken burrito with Spanish rice, grilled veggies, pinto beans, lettuce, pico, corn, and some sort of salsa. My wife always orders tortilla bowl with queso and chips. They have pretty good queso but even their large (pictured) is not very big. They also don’t give a lot of chips, so it just goes down quickly for the price. That’s why I tend to stick with the burritos which are always packed with food if you instruct the employees to do so. Oh, and I always load up their death sauce on every bite. It’s actually not that hot but has some good flavors. Okay, mouth is watering right now just thinking about it…. LOL. Workers are generally nice, but not always. I’m sure we’ll be back soon.

I don’t get to visit Freebirds as often as I’d like, but this location at 700 Earl Rudder in College Station is by far my favorite. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, the food is fresh, and the staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile, and it was clear the entire team worked together like a well-oiled machine. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and each other’s company, which created a great atmosphere.
Jenn, the young lady who served me, was outstanding. She treated me like royalty; walking me through my options, preparing my meal with care, and even taking the time to ask about my day. Her kindness and attention to detail really stood out.
My food was hot and flavorful, with every ingredient perfectly balanced in each bite. And let me just say, the sweet tea was spot on. I left with a full stomach and a smile. This Freebirds location truly goes above and beyond.

This place is like going to a Chipotle or QDoba but not as tasty and I am not a fan of either of those. The meat was fatty the burrito was mostly a bland cilantro lime rice that was more like white rice with parsley. The chips and queso were decent but I feel like the cheese had too much chipotle seasoning in it. However, spending $25 for 1 person to eat is definitely NOT worth it.
