Drove down to Maplesville from Calera for our Sunday drive and stopped for lunch at Fred’s. I am so glad we did! Homestyle meatloaf, creamed potatoes and green bean casserole and the have a salad bar. The ambience was great and a meat and three veggies cost less than $9.00 I recommend to anyone who loves delicious, Southern country cooking!

Sweet staff. Have eaten here several times when traveling. Nice selection on the salad bar. A lot of folks order the 1/2 hamburger with onions and gravy. So I did too. Very yummy. Very clean place to eat.

I always eat my money’s worth here. I eat, let it settle an hour. Use the bathroom and eat some more. The ONLY problem is the bathroom isn’t sound proof. EVERYBODY can hear your business if you are struggling a bit. It was nice the waitress ask if I needed help when she heard me grunting but was a little embarrassing. Good food.

Food was delicious. I wish I lived closer would eat there every chance I got. Didn’t get to eat the buffet cause it was Saturday. Our group is talking about planning another trip just to see the buffet.
