We were in the area for the weekend, based on the reviews we decided to stop in. Great decision, the food was amazing our server Steph was great. Had the Hot honey smash burger phenomenal, the brisket sandwich another home run, my son had grilled cheese and fries he said he loved it, my daughter had the french onion soup it was great. We also had an order of boneless wings which turned into a to go order that’s how much we enjoyed them, and we also tried the Holiday balls would highly recommend anything we ordered it was all amazing. If you’re in the area definitely stop in and try the food well worth the stop.

The Eagle Hotel is one of those places that does exactly what it should and does it well.

While it’s now owned by the Funk family (who have several restaurants in the area), the Eagle has stayed true to its roots. The menu hasn’t been overcomplicated or reinvented, and that’s honestly part of the charm. If you’ve been coming here for years, it still feels like the Eagle.

We came with a group of eight, ordered food and drinks across the table, and everything came out impressively fast. Drinks were quick, food followed right behind, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy.

The wings are a standout. They still do wing nights, and you can tell they take them seriously. They use Bell & Evans wings, which are locally sourced and it shows in the quality. We had the sweet heat bone-in wings, which were perfectly cooked with great flavor, and Thee FEHO boneless wings, which were also excellent.

We also ordered the flying eagle fries hand-cut fries topped with cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce. Comfort food done right. You can choose from hand-cut, curly, or extra crispy fries, which is always appreciated.

The space itself is small but comfortable classic small town bar vibes with exposed brick, a cozy dining room in the back, and a relaxed bar area up front. It’s not fancy, and it’s not trying to be. It’s just a good place to hang out, have a few drinks, eat solid food, and actually enjoy yourself.

Overall, this is a dependable, low key spot with good food, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ve been here many times before and will absolutely keep coming back. It’s a staple for a reason.

The food was delicious.. all three of my kids ate every bite (and 2 of 3 are pretty dang picky). My youngest LOVED her kids order of wings (yes, they have a kids menu – yes, it also had games and crayons) and my husband and I enjoyed our wings as well. The service was amazing, we had everything we needed the whole time. We didn’t know it was trivia night when we got there, but that was so fun and we will definitely be coming back for a full game soon. We had an excellent time. Absolutely 11/10 experience.

Great food and staff! I love their wings night and their beer is not overly priced. Our waitress was really sweet and helpful. Their nachos are huge!!

What a great place! Stopped on our way through from Penn State. Awesome menu—the chef must be a creative yet fun spirit. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Our waitress was attentive and patient as we had trouble deciding as there were so many dishes that we wanted to try. Settled on the Whiskey Mac & Cheese, the Cheese Curds and a dozen Garlic Parmesan wings. The wings were excellent, all the food was great—nice hot temperature. And quick so far as the curds they were lightning fast. The Mac came with a salad which you had the choice of Caesar or garden (went with Caesar). The breading on the cheese curds has a tangy Cheez-it taste and the dipping sauce was tangy with a hint of soy sauce which really hit the spot. Portions were generous. What I loved: the waitress brought me a second unsweetened iced tea before I had the chance to ask her, the interior is intimately lighted, decor was entertaining and the dining area is a bit separate from the bar. What I didn’t love: it’s two hours from home and there’s so many things there that sound good!

Recommended stop!

Very Good burger, juicy and not over cooked. Small, but tasty .80 wings on Thursday. Good server helpful, but not obtrusive. A little louder than I prefer, but that could be where we sat.

I’ve been here a couple of times.
This is a great restaurant in a small town.
The interior is pretty cozy and nice.
Nice place for a date night.
There is a bar section and also a dining section.
The service is good. They have a great selection of food to choose to. The food is great, and they have a large portion for a good price, also a great dessert.
They have daily specials every day for food and drinks.
They also have kids’ menu.
If you’re driving by the area or even looking for a great place to eat, this place is a great choice.
It’s worth a drive.
