I LOVE Freddy’s! Their food is great, service is normally wonderful when I go, but lately I have had issues and tonight was no exception. TWICE I said I needed a crispy chicken with ONLY American cheese. They asked me if I wanted to take everything else off, I said I did, so we waited on our order,, looked in the bag, and we had a patty melt… not what I said. On the receipt it said plain cheeseburger, so neither matched. I chalked that up to her not hearing me because I was dealing with a toddler. The second time I directly went and told the lady what I wanted again and she made the crispy chicken sandwich, came back and asked if I wanted the mayo, lettuce, tomato. I said no, but please put American cheese on it. She nodded in confirmation. We grabbed our food and left. I got home and low and behold, all the fixings were on it PLUS the American cheese. Some people have a bad night, it was going on 8pm, so I understand, but she asked, and confirmed that I did not what the extras on there. So, I am a little disappointed in my service.

I have agreements with other reviews. I have gone to many Freddy’s around my area, but this one by far was terrible.
I ordered my meal through the drive thru. Got very quick unfriendly responses. Gave my order, did NOT repeat order back nor was it on the screen that looked like it was operational. Get to the window. Paid for food. Tenant seemed irritated. Got food quickly (positive note). I got not question if there was anything else I needed (ketchup, sauces, etc), so I asked if I could have 3 jalapeno Freddy’s sauces, no response, she just walked away, then handed me 2 sauces and shut window. And since I haven’t had issues with Freddy’s in the past, I drove on. Only to look at the receipt when I got home to realize that my order was WRONG!! Asked for the Prime Rib Mushroom burger. Was given a Double Cheeseburger. This is unacceptable! Definitely won’t go back to this Freddy’s. I’ll drive to the other side of Springfield.

It’s always been a 5 star but this time the burgers were in sleeves instead of boxes so the burger was smashed and soggy. However the strawberry cheesecake dream… ice cream was AMAZING!!. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! The onion rings are also amazing and the staff was very friendly.

“Wow, just had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Wabash Avenue in Springfield, IL! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was beyond amazing. The managers were incredibly polite, greeting everyone with a smile, and they took my order so fast and efficiently, it was impressive.
I ordered the double cheeseburger, which was perfectly cooked with that signature thin, crispy edge – so flavorful and juicy. I also got a Freddy’s Original, which is always a classic with its lean beef, a touch of onion, and mustard. And for the little one, a kids cheeseburger with only ketchup was exactly what we needed, perfectly simple and tasty for them.
But let’s not forget the highlight – the Reese’s ice cream! The frozen custard at Freddy’s is in a league of its own; so rich and creamy, and with the Reese’s mixed in, it was pure bliss. Every single item was absolutely delicious and hit the spot.
Beyond the fantastic food and lightning-fast service, the environment was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which always makes for a more enjoyable dining experience. First time I’ve been to this restaurant and it was soooo good. Food was so delicious and reasonably priced. The two women that worked there I spoke to was also very kind but I unfortunately do not know their names. My husband’s and I entire conversation while we were eating is how delicious it was. We found a new favorite restaurant. I looked up other Freddy’s locations already so I know what to eat when I’m in those towns. I do not live in Springfield so it’ll only be when I’m in town. I was upset when the five guys here shut down but we found a new, better, and cheaper alternative. So amazing! Thank you for the great food and the great service!

Came here because I love Freddy’s. Herchel took our order and we ordered a turtle concrete and a strawberry dreamcake concrete on hold to come up and ask for. Came up and asked for it. Nothing done for 15 min, went up again no one responded to me. I asked my husband to go up again and they said they were working on it. They treated us like we didn’t exist but finally helped. I don’t think we will go to this area again. Kind of felt like this last time, but now we know not to come here.

Great hamburger choices. Lousy skinny little French fries good for little kids, I guess. And the chocolate milkshake was thin and runny rather than the usual thick and creamy. That was my biggest disappointment. I loved the flavor but it was like extra cold chocolate milk.

Very similar to Steak n Shake with more custard options. We had the prime rib burger. It was a large sandwich, their twist on a mushroom and Swiss. Fries and onion rings were good. Pepsi products including my fav Pepsi Zero.

Went in the drive thru and the worker taking orders was very unprofessional. Did not want to be there and don’t blame him to an extent. He’s a 20 something year old man working fast food. Got a hand tat and mad about working fast food. Make better life decisions.
