I started with the Original Double Steakburger, and it was a delightful explosion of flavors. The patties were perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The combination of the two patties, American cheese, mustard, pickles, and onions created a harmonious blend of sweet and savory, leaving me craving for more. The brioche bun held it all together flawlessly, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. The accompanying hot and crispy shoestring fries were a delightful complement, adding an extra layer of texture and taste to the meal.
For dessert, I couldn’t resist trying the Vanilla Concrete Custard. It was pure indulgence. The custard was incredibly smooth and velvety, and the addition of real vanilla beans added a depth of flavor that set it apart from other frozen treats. The texture was perfect – not too soft, not too hard, and it was chock-full of creamy goodness.
The ambiance of the restaurant is welcoming, with a nostalgic 1950s vibe that transports you to a simpler time. The staff was friendly, and the service was prompt.
Overall, my visit to Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers was a culinary delight. The Original Double Steakburger and Vanilla Concrete Custard were both outstanding, making it a must-visit for anyone in Lenoir City, Tennessee, looking for a taste of classic American comfort food. This is a place I’ll certainly return to for another delicious dining experience.
First, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our order. Once we received it, we were shocked. The burgers are about the thickness of 5 sheets of paper. The fries are shoestring potatoes. They didn’t even put mustard, mayonnaise or ketchup on our sandwiches nor did they ask.
Second, I am a combat veteran and noticed a picture of Freddy on the wall with his veteran hat on and so I asked if they offered a military discount only to be told only on Monday’s. Freddy, if your a veteran owner and founder and are going to honor us fellow veterans, we should honor each other ever day not just on Monday’s.
Third, this place is expensive for what they give you.
I’ve had better burgers from Burger King!
To all Veterans and others, don’t waste your money nor your time at this place.
When we finished our meal, we decided to go up and order a custard. I had the PBC & B Sundae which is vanilla custard, Reese’s® Peanut Butter Cup, banana, whipped cream & a cherry. It didn’t take long at all for this order to be ready, so that was a plus.
While we were in the dining room eating, there were multiple employees (I counted at least 7 not including the cook staff) behind the counter laughing and joking, and only one employee out in the dining room bussing tables. I’m all for having fun at work, but when there’s a huge wait for food, it’s not a good image for the business to have its employees goofing off.
Overall, this is a decent location, and I think with a little more tenure, and maybe some staff training, it could be a success.
I waited 25 minutes( 1:15pm – 1:40pm ) for this Gross & disgusting food. Hamburger meat looked like it had been sitting on the grill since they opened yesterday. I ordered cheese curds, they were nothing but rubbery little balls. My husband had ordered a jalapeño burger, 2 jalapeño and burnt dried out meat. We spent $40 for lunch. The chocolate brownie shake was nothing but cookie dough. The people cooking the food looked like they had no idea what was going on. Where was the managers, new place they needs to be on the floor over seeing things. Don’t waste your time!
