Freddy’s Bar & Grill was established in October of 2010 by beloved local musician, the late Fred “Freddy” Craprotta. Freddy’s Bar & Grill has become a staple of the Eastside’s local music scene, which was his lifelong dream. Freddy’s dream, as well as the friends and family who are committed to carrying on that legacy, was to create a neighborhood pub that embraced live music and the musicians who create it. Over the last decade, Freddy’s has committed to that vision by being a place where the community has come together to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy causes through our many fundraising and charitable events.
Low-key hangout featuring pub grub, food specials & local cover bands in a casual atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, the service was excellent, but the food is poor quality and very expensive for a bar. The nachos were soggy before they even hit the table. Check this place out for a few beers or the badass bike night, but I’d save your money and just make reservations at your favorite restaurant in Birmingham and enjoy an actual delicious meal with for the cash they want here for bar food. But find out for yourself and check them out!!..

Was there on 9/28/25 and there were less than 20 people including myself and my wife. We sat more than 30 minutes waiting on service. I finally went to the bar myself and got our drinks. It was 25 minutes later before the waitress came and took our order which was cheese bread and a large pizza. This took another 40 minutes minutes till our food arrived. It was the absolute worst service of any place i ever been. We will never go back and we will spread the word about the ordeal its really sad that it took over half hr to get a pizza.

Had a great night went on a Friday night and it was 5$ to get in. The drinks were yummy and the food was on point. We got a table close to the stage and being thee first time here didn’t know there was a live band. It was cool being close to the stage. A much enjoyed night out with great music and entertainment

The lighting makes my picture look weird, but overall the food was great. I had the fish and chips and it was awesome. We started with the fried pickles and although we usually prefer the pickle chips for fried pickles, the wedges were still good. Service was a little slow but it was pretty busy, so we didn’t mind too much. They have a ton of specials throughout the week, so we plan on coming back to enjoy those. They also have a big stage with a bunch of speakers. They were all decked out with decorations for St. Patrick’s day. I also really liked the music they play on the speakers. We will be coming back more often, and hope to enjoy the fire pits outside when it gets a little warmer.

Halloween weekend there, with my brother, was great! The waitress was spot on. The drink selections were good. Bro had me try his Red Stag. If you like jolly ranchers try Red Stag w/ ginger ale.
After that try I was there for the Halloween party and just stuck to domestic beer. The band was crowd interactive, making the night even better. Thanks Bro and Freddy’s for the memories while I was in town for the weekend.

Great place and great bands! There is a cover when bands play and is subject to change based on who is on schedule. We usually go when Parallel Fifth plays, We love their vibe.
You can check their website to see what events they have.
Reservations are highly recommended if you want a table, but once the music starts you may keep dancing all night.
They offer a wide variety of bar drinks, spirits and beers and their food menu is anywhere from nachos to wings. Place is safe with plenty of easy parking.

So on 3/15/24 nice low 60s thought why not go.
Walk in, not really clear to seat yourself or not, 2 servers blew past us, said nothing.
So with 4-5 tables busy we sat nearby, and we sat, no look from the servers

“I’ll be right with you”
Nothing, so after 10 minutes, sensing the bad vibe we left.
One and Done.
Ode well.
