If you like Spaghetti Red, you’ll love this place. The food is fantastic, the waitresses are great, and the diner itself looks like it jumped straight of the 40’s.

We’ve been going here since 1975 when my in-laws took us for the first time. We couldn’t sit together due to being packed but what great memories! Love this place as well as the wonderful, fun staff! Best hamburgers, fresh fries and Dr. Pepper too!

Great place for comfort food. Sat back and relaxed and dined on all of the goodness. Wait staff was welcoming and friendly. We are traveling and while passing through town looked up local places to eat and selected Fred and Red’s based on other review. . . we were not disappointed. Portions are nice and prices are reasonable.

They were super nice, everything was at a great price and was made to order. Hot and fresh, delicious and we were so glad we got to stop by and eat. Recommend here for great food and service, as well as the historic aspect. Right on Main street in Joplin. Their chili was amazing, awesome chili cheese dogs and the burgers were the best. The tamales were so tasty. The crinkle cut fries were given 2 thumbs up by my daughter. The sweetest and friendliest employees. Definitely stop by and try them out if you want good food that won’t break the bank. We loved it.

Interesting dinner bar setting with great service. At the end of the day it’s just simple chilli you put on whatever you like (Tamales or Noodles)

A Route 66 secret to travelers but famous to generations of locals. If you haven’t tried their spaghetti red, you MUST. Step back into the 1920’s and enjoy anything or everything from their menu. Just make sure you leave room for pie!

My fiance picked this place for us to have dinner out last night. The place itself was alright, it was very small and old, but the waitresses are right there to provide service quickly. However, the menu is very limited and the “chili” is the star of the show there. But it’s (in my opinion) not chili. What it really is is a heavy on the meat sauce resembling sloppy joe mix, without much flavor. You can get that on a plate of spaghetti noodles, or you can get that meat sauce on a burger or hot dog. I got a “chili cheeseburger” and was highly underwhelmed. Ate 2 bites and was done. The burger itself was not good, the bun was a greasy mess, the chili wasn’t chili, and the overall experience was not great. For all the great reviews, I was quite let down and will for sure not be going back.
