This is my second time visiting Fred and Larry’s Coffee Shop in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The first time was September 13, 2021; the ending stages of COVID so customers were not allowed in the shop. I ended up drinking coffee outside with three local gentlemen; one of the them was Larry. He is an owner and a Marine Veteran. We had some good laughs and I learned a lot about Banner Elk and the surrounding area.
After visiting Fred and Larry’s Coffee the first time, I realized I wanted to make exploring local coffee shops a part of my life; and here I am almost 500 coffee shops later.
On my second trip I enjoyed a cortado while relaxing on Fred and Larry’s big comfy leather couch. The barista was super friendly. She is definitely an incredible asset to the shop.
Thank you Fred and Larry for making delicious coffee and providing a relaxing setting to meet new people and dream up new adventures in life.
Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
The two woman y’all had working there the other day poisoned me and my fiancé! Don’t know what made them choose us as victims but we survived this blatant attack against us. The Netflix documentary is gonna go crazy when we tell our story of how we survived the coffee bean killers at Fred and Larry’s. It doesn’t make sense how that coffee manage to make our bowels explode the way it did. I feel so bad for the toilets that we had to blow up after drinking this cup of mud. We have never had this happened to us before drinking coffee. The coffee itself was good and we enjoyed it but it left devastating consequences shortly after. We know this place to be the cause because we only had breakfast that we made ourselves that morning around 8 am then around 1pm is when we got coffee here. Shortly after we finished is when we started to have issue controlling our guts. Perhaps some bad milk was used in our lattes? Or something else in it may have disagreed with us. Either way this experience left us and our toilets traumatized and we won’t be returning here for coffee anytime soon. So Fred and Larry make sure expired milk ain’t used to make lattes with. Because for the life of me I don’t know what else it could have been with those drinks that would make us so sick.
Also the price of two specialty 16 oz lattes was $18. Which is a lot for a drink. It tasted good and was worth it but my goodness it was not a nice experience afterwards.
They offer a huge, and I mean HUGE variety of flavorings too and the widest selection of sugar free flavors I have EVER seen. Starbucks, any local place, any widely known place, cannot even come close.
They also have a few relaxation teas also.
One of the owners also was present both times we visited and he is an extremely kind hearted gentleman. I wish this shop was closer to home and we weren’t just on vacation because I would come here daily.
