Used to live a few minutes away and would get Fransktown once a week. Their margherita and white are phenomenal! I recommend this place to any pizza aficionado that will listen! I’ve tried a ton of Neapolitan pizza places, I honestly can say they’re the best place in Pittsburgh! I’m due for another trip back to the pros!

Until now I had 4 pizza shops I loved in Pittsburgh….after trying this one I now have 5!! We got a Bianco and a Margherita pizza and also a piece of Lasagna. Everything was very good and I’d even say it was excellent! I was surprised on the pricing because I was going from another photo of a menu on Google that apparently is old. I’m including a photo of a new one along with the food we got. We’ll definitely be back to try more from this little gem in Penn Hills!!!

This place is great. While the curb appeal may turn some unknowing people away, the real gem is inside. Fresh ingredients make great pizzas. The real star is the kind Italian gentleman (assuming he is the owner). There is hardly room for 2 people to stand and order inside, but he took the time to call my two boys inside to offer them a cup of Italian ice on a hot day – he made their day! Everyone who works here was kind, pleasant and willing to help. The ingredients made for great pizzas but the people made for a great experience. Wish we lived closer to come more often!

This is very high quality homemade pizza. I got the margherita pizza and also tried two slices of the marinara pizza. The marinara is quite a basic pizza, simple yet tasty. It is made of simply cheese and tomato sauce.
My margherita pizza was awesome! It is around 12″ which is enough for 1-2 people. It’s similar to a Neapolitan style pie, but a little bit thicker. The dough is pretty soft, not too crispy, but also had a nice char on the bottom. You can see the man making the pizza in the tiny restaurant, so you know it’s made by hand! Margherita also had basil, nice chunks of mozzarella, tomato chunks (whole tomatoes!) and some sort of spice which was pretty unique. And the price was only $11.
I did try to order their raisin bread along with my pie, but they were out of it. However, I would try it the next time I visit.
The downside is that they don’t deliver and it’s cash only. But, this place is worth the drive if you live locally. It’s a nice home style pizza place serving pretty cheap Neapolitan-esque pizzas.

This was my first time getting take out from this pizza shoppe. My pizza was ready in a timely manner during rush hour on a Friday. The shoppe was very busy. I liked that you could actually see the pieces of wood and the oven as soon as you walk in. You can also see pizzas being prepared from scratch. I purchased a small pasta salad and the Bianco pie with sausage. The pizza was delicious. I enjoyed the crust and overall smoky flavor of the pie. The pizza tasted authentic and homemade. The pasta salad was pretty tasty as well. I am told that the hoagies are delicious. Considering how much I enjoyed the pizza, I will try some of their hoagies on my next visit.

There are many pizza shops in Penn Hills, but this is by far the best one. If you want real pizza this is the spot, if you like garbage call pizza hut or dominoes. Their hoagies are delicious too

The pizza was excellent and had a very nice crispy crust. I expected this place to be expensive given how higher it’s rated but it was not. This might be the lowest priced high quality wood fired pizza in town.
It’s mostly a carry out place but they do have some tables outside.
There is no delivery and it’s cash only, you will see an old man cooking the pizzas which I assume is the owner while his daughters run the shop
