I’ve visited Frank’s Restaurant more than once and have always enjoyed their breakfast, which is why me and my two besties decided to stop by today for something small while we caught up.

Our wait time was about 10–15 minutes, which was perfectly reasonable. Once seated, our waitress Hailey came over right away and got our drinks. However, throughout our visit she repeatedly returned asking if we were ready to order. I understand not wanting to forget about a table, but we were trying to catch up, and it began to feel rushed rather than attentive.

We shared the shrimp and catfish platter and were told they were out of French fries, with tater tots offered as the substitution. If we wanted any other side, there would be an upcharge — which was frustrating since fries normally come with the platter and they were out of them. One of my besties ordered the shrimp platter and didn’t want the substitute sides, so she asked if she could just get the shrimp at a reduced price, but that wasn’t an option.

When our food arrived, only part of the order came out. By the time the tater tots reached the table, the fish and shrimp were already cold.

The biggest disappointment was the mimosa flight, which includes four different flavors. My bestie explained she cannot have mango. The waitress suggested she smell each drink to figure out which one contained mango, which felt unsanitary and very off-putting.

Overall, this visit was very disappointing. Between the cold food, the side substitution issue, and the uncomfortable interaction regarding the drinks, it didn’t reflect the positive experiences I’ve had here before. I would only recommend this place for breakfast based on my prior visits. After this experience with our waitress and the overall service, it would not be my first choice going forward. I truly hope this was just an off day.

I really enjoyed my breakfast here. The eggs were cooked just the way I like them, soft and fluffy, paired perfectly with creamy grits and warm buttered toast. It was a simple meal done right, comforting and satisfying from the first bite to the last. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, making it a great start to the day.

Thank you from the bottom of my stomach, Franks on Airline! My breakfast was absolutely amazing. My waitress, Erica, was so sweet and kind, and my order came out perfect. I’m usually a chicken fried steak girl, but thanks to Destiny’s suggestion, I switched it up today and tried the hamburger steak with grilled onions and brown gravy—delicious!

I had my eggs slightly scrambled with a side of grits and buttered toast. Talk about lick-your-chops good! I appreciate those cooks as well! Franks on Airline Baton Rouge never disappoints, and I’ll definitely be back.

Food was excellent and highly recommended if you have never tried this restaurant. Definitely a busy establishment with so many people having breakfast. I will say knowing that the wait for the food is worth it especially getting my food hot and made to order vs something that has been sitting around. Will definitely be back and try other items on the menu as this place has a lot to offer.

My dad took my sister and I there for lunch today, though we got breakfast food it was such a sweet, family centered atmosphere. The staff was very nice and personable, not rude or snappy. We definitely enjoyed our time there. The only downside is the fact that they’re only open until 230 in the afternoon! Like this would be such a cute place to go for a cozy family dinner outing or even a little date spot! The food was great, the staff were so kind, the place was clean and smelled like Grandma’s flapjacks solid 9/10

Miss Jo made my whole day with her charm and kindness. Thanks so much for the hospitality you’ve shown us. All the best to you, Miss Jo. The food was mediocre at best. The beignets are not the same as New Orleans. I found the food lacking and the waitress, although attentive, could not serve up a smile.

Amazing breakfast, homemade biscuits, large portions. Service was impeccable, the staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend the Mexican hash browns, they are big enough for two people to enjoy despite the beans in the chili it was delicious.

Many years ago I worked near Frank’s Restaurant-Baton Rouge, and ate lunch there almost every day. This morning I had the opportunity to eat there again and it is as good as I remember. The atmosphere is great, old school and classic. The service is always excellent and the food is really great. It’s a real treat to breakfast or dinner here.

We are from LA and living in FL. We eat at Frank’s when we come back to visit family. We go to both locations (BR & Prairieville) and love Franks. We went to Prairieville location today and I got gluten free toast with my veggie omelette. Typically in my experience, GF bread is not good but the bread they used was really good. If anyone can share the brand name with me, I would really appreciate it.
