We made a point to visit Frank’s again while staying in the Soo on vacation. It was one of our favorite places to eat when in college and still is as good today! The kid’s menu has a good selection and is a bit healthier than some of the other places around town. We had the chicken Caesar salad and the pasty and both were delicious and more than we could eat. Our service was a little bit slow but the restaurant was fully filled and had a separate private party also, so it is understandable.

Stopped here for late breakfast while in town for a hockey tournament. Great mom-n-pop diner. One of us had the breakfast wrap which was yuge! Great value. Didn’t want meat in it. They added tomato and mushrooms for no charge. Veggie omelet was great. Subbed fresh spinach for the black olives. Service was prompt and friendly.

Terrible!! Breakfast was slow to come out of the kitchen considering the buffet available, which about 50% of the half full restaurant was taking part in. Food came out so greasy. Asked for hashbrowns dry and they were soaked with oil. Sausage patty looked like some artificial food item, slightly resembling spam in texture…gross! Ordering the cheapest food quality available doesn’t always work in your favor.

Bathroom smelled disgusting and there was a wet depend in the garbage. Light switch and door was dirty.

Definitely won’t be back.

I recently had breakfast at Frank’s Place at 123 W Portage Ave, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The restaurant sits downtown and is a very nice place to visit. I ordered a scrambled egg and sausages. The bread was a freshly made sourdough and it was delicious. The quantity was plenty and cooked very well. If you want a nice breakfast before you start your day, this is a place to go to. My server was very nice and pleasant.

Went to visit my daughter here last weekend and was happy to dine here twice! I loved their Greek Omelet and hash browns! Nice and easy going atmosphere and the person who took our order was very friendly and tentative to our needs. I will definitely be back to Frank’s Place when I head back for a visit this summer!

Stayed across the street at hotel and staff recommended this place to eat. I had the turkey dinner and it was great. My husband’s not a fan so he got ravioli and meatballs. The meatball soup as a starter was some of the best I’ve ever eaten!! Homemade blue cheese dressing for my salad was delicious. Great prices to boot.

I haven’t eaten here in a while now, but the past couple of times that I did go last year the food was not that good. Service was not that good either. We didn’t feel we were valued or appreciated for coming in. When the food did arrive, it wasn’t very warm both times. I would steer clear of this establishment in the future. Very rundown building, atmosphere and the staff don’t seem to care about the customers.

Walked in, waited for 5 minutes to even be addressed by staff, and then was treated like an inconvenience by the waitress, and was then charged 17.39$ for this. The listed menu price on their own website is 10.99. The waitress just hung up on my sister (who paid the bill) after refusing to give any information on management to contact further to be refunded what was overcharged. Be very careful and triple check your bill. I shouldn’t have been charged for a five dollar tip on a takeout item, against my wishes, to be ignored and treated like trash. I have always loved Franks Diner. I don’t know if the place has changed hands or what is different, but the service is awful and I’ll not recommend, nor frequent, an establishment that operates in such a manner.

Franks place has amazing delicious food, portions are large and filling. Waiter is great in fact came back for the second day we were in town for breakfast or brunch before leaving town. Numerous homemade breads for toast etc, cinnamon raisin and rye were delicious. An amazing looking peanut butter pie, but always too full to try. Another diner ate theirs first and the picture of sure joy and pleasure, makes me wish we had done that. Don’t miss this great place 6 stars. Matt our server was amazing both days.

Myself and 7 of my friends came in and had an amazing experience. We are a group of bikers who came up from the lower peninsula and we were treated amazing. We were seated fast, and the breakfast buffet was on point! We had Mountain Dew in a frosted mug which btw is amazing. Can’t wait to take another trip up and eat here again!
