About Frank’s Place
In May of 1968, my parents Frank and Joann Cerminaro opened a classic “Mom & Pop Tavern” in Simpson, PA. They served the basics: beer, whisky and good food.

Went last weekend for my wife’s birthday and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Started with stuffed mushrooms and French onion soup, both of which were very good. For the entrée I had a 16oz ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. My wife had ” surf & turf” and she loved it. Said it was excellent.
Service was attentive without being smothering. Courteous, professional and cheerful. We ordered some crab Rangoon but unfortunately it was overcooked to the point of being close to inedible. When it was brought to the attention of our server she immediately said she would remove it from the bill. No arguments. We didn’t even need to ask.
Overall it was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend it. A warm friendly place suitable for family dining.

Huge menu with lots of options. The dry-aged steaks are excellent, and both the pasta and steak dishes were consistently good. Seafood was slightly overcooked, but still flavorful.
Wings are solid, and desserts are a standout.
Big plus for clearly marked gluten-free options.
Family-friendly spot—just be sure to call ahead for a reservation, especially on weekends.

This was my family and I first time here, decided to try on a spur of the moment thing. We did make a reservation a few hours before as it was a saturday and they definitely were a little busy and i would recommend reserving a table. We got seated in the heated patio which was actually really comfortable considering the weather outside. the place was definitely starting to get filled towards the end of our dinner but the service remained good. Multiple people checked on us and ran our food out. We had appetizers, refills, and all our needs were met exceptionally. As far as the food, it was amazing!!! Our server recommended strawberry pina colada frozen drinks and they were delicious. We will definitely return and recommend !

Cannot rave enough! Full portions and strong drinks for a good price. As someone with celiac it absolutely made my day to stumble across such a great restaurant, so close to scranton, and with all kinds of gf options! I ordered the gf parm, and . A hidden gem for sure! Staff and owner were very accommodating for someone with strict dietary needs. Friend with me was free to order as she pleased and was also highly satisfied. Will definitely be returning!

We are here recently after someone recommended it, and really enjoyed our meal. Everyone was EXTREMELY friendly and attentive and the food was great.
We started with the stuffed jalopenos, which were excellent, then ordered the burger (which was very good) and the prime rib (which was excellent).
