They have a nice inside and outside space with sun shades. Good and sufficient parking close by.
They got awards for next steak, salad, and restaurant in Monroe. I believe from 2025 maybe 2024 for the salad and/or steak.
I can recommend this restaurant and given the opportunity try more dishes.
The nachos were terrible , meat was over cooked & cheese sauce was a bit clumpy. Definitely could tell it wasn’t made to order and both ( chicken and cheese were either old or in a slow cooker or even warmer and just thrown on top lol ) & the wings . . Z they were crispy but they tasted like grease lol like i couldn’t taste a garlic or parm on them lol so i just told the waiter that i didn’t like the nachos and didn’t want them anymore. She do ask was it something else i wanted and i was like no i felt like i didn’t wanna be a pain but i would just send those back & keep in mind didn’t even say anything about the wings . . . Trying to be very modest and not cause to much of a hassle .
So we ask for the bill and boxes . When i received my check the nachos were on there . I kindly ask for the waiter to take that off seeing that i didn’t eat them and sent them back , she said her manager/owner said they made them to my liking and i would still get charged . I asked her well why didn’t you mention that when you took them away . If i would have known that i would have to pay for something i didn’t like or want anymore then i would have took them and gave them to someone homeless or something. . . I asked to speak to manager/ owner & boyyyy idk if i should have .
He was a bit aggressive and was standing over me while having the conversation. He kept looking at me with a certain look & idk it wasn’t comfortable. Once i told him that the chicken was over cooked & the sauce was clumpy on top of the bbq chicken didn’t mix well i can tell that bothered him . Idk just that interaction wasn’t the best and it definitely made me feel uncomfortable completely. Plus me and my wife were the only African Americans in the establishment so don’t know if they pre judged us or what.
Just word of advice, you order something and you don’t like it , be ready to pay for it . Even if you don’t eat it , the quality isn’t good or whatever. And if you tell them , the owner may get angry with you and stand over you while you guys have the conversation.
Oh but i did get it off the bill . But i think i was lucky . When i stated if i would have known that me sending it back i would still have to pay , i would have kept it and it wasn’t told to me , he stated he wasn’t remaking it . . . . . . But yeah . I hope things get better you guys actually listen and read these reviews. Not sure about coming back to this establishment.
The vibe was great though – the outdoor area was clean, fans were going, and it felt really comfortable.
*Update*
I’ve been back multiple times and I also recommend the chicken parmesan sandwich, philly cheesesteak, chicken burger, and cubano.
This is your place.
Living with Celiac or having a gluten intolerance is frustrating by itself. It becomes much more frustrating when you go to a restaurant and you tell the server your issue, and they look at you like you’re an alien from another planet… or worse… get frustrated with you. I’ve lost count of how many places I’ve had to walk out of because I knew just from speaking to them that it wasn’t safe for me to eat there.
That doesn’t happen here. Not only do they have plenty of gluten-free options (which are well labeled on the menu)… But the staff also seem to be well trained on how to handle the questions that we may have. I had a server specifically ask me one time after I ordered a gluten-free bun if I was Celiac…that has never happened before…anywhere. (I’ve been here enough now that they pretty much all know without me having to even say it anymore, but that’s beside the point.)
The staff and owners have always been extremely friendly whenever we are there. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, and it’s just an overall great experience for us every time we go. It means a tremendous amount to be able to sit down at a table and not really worry about how I’m going to feel 30 minutes after I leave because someone in the kitchen or the server themselves doesn’t understand how to handle my food after I tell them my issue. It SHOULD be this easy everywhere, but those of us that deal with it everyday know that it’s not.
If you’re looking for a place that serves great food, with staff that understands what it means to be careful with cross-contamination and what you’re served, this is your place. Communicate with them clearly, and you will not be disappointed.
