I really wanted to like Frankie’s Italian Cuisine. It has been around for over 50 years, and places with that kind of history usually earn it. It’s tucked into a small shopping plaza you could drive past a hundred times and never notice, which almost made it feel like it could be a hidden gem. Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment.

I ordered a small pepperoni pizza, and my son ordered the rigatoni with meatballs. The Coke machine was down, so beverage options were limited, which was fine. These things happen. Our side salad and buffalo chicken wings came out quickly, but then we waited close to an hour for a small pizza. The waitress mentioned the kitchen was backed up with DoorDash orders and a party, but we didn’t see a party or any delivery drivers during that time. The one positive was having extra time to catch up with my son.

When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The pizza had very little cheese and a thick, doughy crust that tasted strangely soapy. I’ve never experienced that before, but it was unmistakable. My son described his rigatoni as tasting like something you could get from a gas station, and looking at it on the plate, it honestly wasn’t far off. We both took a few bites and decided to ask for the check.

The waitress didn’t seem particularly concerned about the long wait, and based on the overall experience, it didn’t feel like raising concerns about the food would have changed much. The family seated across from us was also unhappy with their meal, which added to the sense that this wasn’t an isolated issue.

I won’t be back. It’s a shame, especially for a restaurant with such a long history, but this experience missed the mark in every way that matters.

Best homeade blue cheese dressing, best food, cant go wrong with anything you order. They took the chicken marsala off of their menu during covid and it never returned. That was my go to and the best dish on the menu.. need to bring it back please!

Pasta is tasteless and meatballs are all filler for $15. Also found a hair in my pasta. No parmesan or red pepper flakes. Italian bread, no butter. Dinner salad; 1 tomato, 1 onion ring, 1 slice of cucumber. What is pictured I added to. The house salad ($9) is literally bagged old lettuce. The pizza had no sauce. Deluxe small for 18? Will NEVER go back. Wasted money. GROSS!!!

Lovely place! Went in with a family of five and were quickly seated. The servers were beyond friendly and helpful, always quick to assist us. The wait for the food was only about 15-20 minutes, and it was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious! We were absolutely stuffed, and absolutely satisfied. The service was amazing, the food was great, the prices were good, and we’ll definitely be coming back again!

Good Italian food in a restaurant that’s been around for a long time. It does feel like the dishes are based on recipes that grandmothers brought with them from Italy more than a century ago, except they’re not. The food is good, and the portions are big, but it feels like the dishes are prepared with modern necessities and limitations in mind. Prices are high, and service is professional but a bit slow. This used to be a far superior establishment before the pandemic.

I travel for work this place is now in my top 5 places for Italian food. I got the lasagna and it was heavenly. It the right amount of cheese and ricotta. The bread that was served with was fresh out of the oven. Very soft with a crunchy crust. Highly recommend.

Most pathetic sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Pepperoni sub is a joke. Trash pepperoni thrown on a roll with some sauce on the side. Cheese in the pic is our own to try and make it edible. Chicken Parm sub is dry and tiny for the price. Put the sauce from the pepperoni sub on it to add some moisture. Two bites taken out of meatball sub then tossed. Most disgusting meatballs either of us have ever tasted. I’ve eaten here a few times over the last few years and has gotten worse each time. Never again. I don’t see them lasting much longer and should not even sell sandwiches.
