The stuffed crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and the tomato sauce complemented all the toppings that were inside the pizza. The Chipotle BBQ chicken had a mildly sweet and tangy BBQ sauce that shined through the chicken and other toppings. 10/10 would come back!
I also saw that they also sell single slices of pizza which would be perfect if you’re just craving pizza or for a date night.
We also loved the staff! They are the nicest people you can ever meet. Thank you for being so kind and patient with us! And for accommodating our large group with such short notice.
I don’t feel like giving one star is fair given I’ve ordered here a handful of times before and only had one minor issue prior to my most recent issue. However, the most recent time I ordered was a nightmare.
I had ordered a pizza for pickup and was given a 30 minute estimate for pickup. When I got there after 25 minutes, the pizza wasn’t ready (understandably, since I was a few minutes early), but they took my payment and told me it would be just a few minutes. After 15 more minutes of me just standing there, I checked again with the person at the counter and they let me know it was almost done.
It ended up being an hour after I arrived before I got my pie, I ended up tracking that it took 85 minutes to get my pie from when I placed my order and I had been standing there for 55 minutes past the estimated pickup time and had checked in multiple times and given multiple opportunities for them to make sure my order was actually being made (I think I checked in three times after I initially arrived and paid).
Only during my last check in did the person at the counter go back to talk to the chefs and it very much seemed like they just completely forgot my order and had to make it from the start after I had already been waiting in the store for 40 minutes. They never told me that they had forgotten it, though, they were fine telling me “just a few more minutes” as before. When I was finally handed my pizza, I got only a “sorry for the wait” and the chef that handed me the pizza was already turned around and walking away before finishing that sentence.
It was an absolutely horrid experience, I was patient and gave them multiple chances to make sure that my order was indeed being made. If I hadn’t paid when I arrived instead of when the order was ready, I 100% would have left.
I then filled out the contact form on the website after a few days so that I could inform Frankie’s what happened so that nobody else should have to go through waiting an hour past their estimated pick up. I never heard back, so I guess they’re happy to take my money and provide sub par service.
I never asked for a refund or for compensation. I was patient and understanding when in the store that night, and I wanted to give them a chance to reply to my contact form so I could see what kind of business they were, but they just utterly failed me and I’m just going to go elsewhere for pizza now. I also love Chicago dogs, but I’d now rather drive up to Portillo’s in Maple Grove.
I know how difficult working in the food industry can be, I’ve been there. I’m patient, understanding of issues, and tip well, but Frankie’s couldn’t be honest to me, reply to me, give an honest apology, or even offer me a coupon or something at the very least for waiting an extra hour.
We also ordered onion rings, fries, and a Chicago dog. The latter was a bit disappointing, the casing on the wiener being so tough that I needed a knife to cut through it. Eating a Chicago dog with a knife and fork took away from the experience.
Add in a couple of beers and a soft drink, and the meal before tip came to $63.16. Lots of leftover pizza made this a good buy.
