Effective 11/20/12, Frank & Mary’s is CLOSED. New owners failed to turn this run-down business around.Instead of targeting the local market and advertising carry-out specials, etc., this place tried to go “up-scale”. It didn’t work.

The 1950’s are gone and all the post-war folks that went out for fried fish on the weekends are gone too.

Maybe the place will get ‘dozed and a Walgreen’s will go up in its place? But if that happens, the old Hogheads BBQ will need to be ‘dozed to build a CVS. Or if the Town Council doesn’t run them off again, Maybe a Casey’s General Store will grace Pittsboro with its humble presence.

You have 3 choices of food here, fried, deep fried, and deep deep fried. The cost for my family of 4 with only Ice Tea to drink (no alcohol) and 2 of them were kids meals was almost $75! We did not even take home any of the left overs as the food was too greasy and mushy to even worry about. Service was very slow, yet nice, and the atmosphere was very old and they most likely had not cleaned it in years!

Famous for their catfish, which you can get either on or off the bone. Staff is very courteous and accommodating. Much better than BK’s “have it your way”.

Salads are always fresh and their marble bread is to die for! While I typically get catfish, their other menu items exceed expectations as well.

If you’ve never been, plan on a visit. Enjoy this wonderful feasting experience! Nom, nom, nom…

Frank and Mary’s has new ownership. The new menu is really good and the whole place is now non-smoking. I really like the catfish filets and the crab cakes.
