I admit that it took me a minute to give this new version of The Foxhole a fair shake. I really loved the previous version but definitely started seeing the cracks in quality before it abruptly closed last year and I was initially disappointed with the changes when it reopened… that said, it has since reestablished its place as one of my go to spots.
The new owners have kept the gothy, witchy vibes with their own twists. The music choices are impeccable. The drinks are perfectly balanced and enjoyable. I appreciate the business sense of keeping a small menu of interesting drinks. The food is good (just not my particular preference) and the vibe is chill. It’s a two person operation so sometimes service can be slower when it’s busy.
I don’t get the previous 1-star reviews about it being a college bro (definitely not the vibe I’ve encountered on any of my several visits) or regarding Alex who’s only ever been great.
So I hope they get to stick around and get to grow from here because I really do like what they’ve done with the spot, maybe even better than before.

Such good vibes, great date and the people watching view from upstairs is top notch. I tried a yummy yuzu cocktail and got a draft Sapporo for $5!! Harissa tuna panini was also very tasty and reasonably priced.

Please avoid this place at all costs. Not only is the vibe of the bar reminiscent of knock-off combination of Shakedown’s overpriced water with a splash of bottom-shelf alcohol meets your least favorite toxic “grunge era clique”, but one of the bartenders, Alex, had a horrendous attitude torwards not only me but the majority of the long line of customers in front of me. I’m not sure what kind of establishment let’s someone treat their patrons like that. This place used to be enchanting, but new ownership has made sure to ruin it. If this review doesn’t quite deter you from going, at least avoid ordering the green tea concoction that basically tasted like water.

Overall great experience! My girlfriend’s and I enjoyed sitting upstairs. The cocktails and service were both wonderful. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing environment and cocktails. I got Water Seven (vegan option) and Solstice Special, they were amazing!!! I recommend this place if you want to drink different cocktails…

I’d rather eat glass than have a cocktail anywhere else in town after drinking here- truly the best drinks, the staff are incredibly competent (THE best bartenders in Bellingham), they have an amazing selection, and the location is perfect. As a bonus they have a vending machine that does tarot readings, it’ll hurt your feelings but it is accurate.

I rarely enjoy going out anymore. That being said I do enjoy the fox hole. It has simple but tasteful decor and wonderful natural lighting. The menu consists of well made cocktails, and food that delightful to the tongue. The tongue is pleased.

Went there expecting a goth-ish sapphic environment, only to fins a bunch of frat boys filling the entire place and maybe one girl in that crowded bar. Bummer since I heard what it used to be, which is not what it is anymore… Don’t go if you’re still expecting a sapphic-like goth-ish bar. That is not what it is.
