This cozy pub is a re-creation of a gathering room in an English home where the host might entertain his guests before and after a vigorous hunt.

The vibe inside was cute and comfy. I can’t say I liked the drink or food I ordered though. The fish and chips had an excellent coating on it, but the fish itself tasted a bit of cucumber… not “bad” just not… good. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, might try it again in the future.

Wow, my wife and I visited The Cheshire Hotel on our first night. We were too tired to go anywhere else, and Basso’s had a 120 minute wait. Upon seating, we realized we had to go to the bar to order. Looking at the menu, we both felt a bit disappointed in the offerings. We both opted for the burger, and my wife upgraded our fries to loaded fries with fried pickles so we could share them.

Let me tell you, our mouths dropped and our eyes stared at each other after we took our first bite into the burger! The bacon, cheese, and flavor were mind-blowing…by far the best burger I’ve ever had! Our loaded fries and fried pickles were also amazing!

And the best part? It’s not overpriced!

Now, something to keep in mind is that the restaurant has limited seating and a dark, rustic environment. So, if you’re hard of seeing, be prepared.

However, my wife and I both agree that this is a place you must visit to enjoy the full experience!

One of my favorite places to meet for a quiet drink is Fox and Hounds Tavern at the Cheshire Inn. It’s been around forever and still has not lost the charm of a tiny pub you discovered that is dark, mysterious and strangely comforting. Grab a pint, a plate of chips and enjoy!

I REALLY love the cozy tavern feel. The drinks were just okay, but the atmosphere, service, and food were all really good, so this still gets 5 stars. We got fish and chips and Shepard’s pie.

My husband and I went to the Fox and Hound for a drink by the fire. We ordered at the bar and sat in chairs by the fire. It’s so very cozy especially when the temperature is in the single digits.

Absolutely fell in love with the vibe the minute I walked in. It’s got that moody English pub energy, with an incredible fireplace that fills the room with warmth (and the best kind of woodsmoke). The drinks are consistently great. Service? Hit or miss. We’ve had a few unfriendly encounters and a couple decent ones—but never anyone who made us feel especially welcome. Still, we keep going back for the atmosphere.

Cozy. Wonderful tavern with lots of atmosphere and charm. Feels like rustic England. Dimly lit room. Dark wood, oil paintings, and taxidermy with a homey hearth. Music was a much-appreciated blend of classic tunes, post-punk, and other goodness: Beatles, Motorhead, The Cure, Joy Division, The Smiths, Radiohead, etc. Local brews on tap from Heavy Riff, Civil Life, and others. Excellent location for a fireside conversation with friends.
