Lunch – Four Winds Restaurant
Reviews
Rating: 1/5 Stars (Zero if permitted)
My recent visit to Four Winds Restaurant was unequivocally the most disappointing dining experience I have encountered. As a military veteran and retired law enforcement officer, I maintain a high standard for professional conduct and public sanitation; unfortunately, this establishment fails on both counts.
Culinary Quality
The execution of the meal was substandard. We ordered a steak and a burger, both of which arrived gray, unseared, and devoid of basic seasoning. More concerning was a distinct, “dirty” aftertaste on the meat, suggesting a significant buildup of carbon and food debris on a grill that appears to have gone uncleaned for an extended period. We were also informed by the manager that they do not season their meat at all.
Management and Conduct
When we politely addressed the lack of seasoning with the manager, the response was unprofessional and confrontational. Rather than attempting a resolution, she defended the lack of preparation and transitioned into a hostile, elitist tirade. She directed derogatory slurs toward us and suggested we frequent “budget” chains instead.
When it became clear her verbal abuse would not be tolerated, she transitioned into an erratic attempt to deflect accountability before ultimately refusing to remove the inedible items from our bill and demanding we leave.
Facility Conditions
The physical state of the restaurant is a major red flag. The restrooms were in a state of extreme neglect and were functionally unsanitary. Given the flavor profile of the food and the condition of the public areas, there are clear indicators of systemic hygiene issues.
Final Verdict:
The level of disrespect shown to patrons—and the lack of regard for basic food safety—is unacceptable. I will be filing a formal report with the Department of Health regarding the kitchen and restroom conditions. I strongly advise potential diners to seek alternatives.
Update: spread the word! Boycott Four Winds
The food was solid and well-prepared. What I did have was fresh and flavorful, clearly made with care. It’s the kind of place where you can expect consistently good dishes without a lot of fuss.
The ambience stood out as particularly pleasant. The dining area was tidy and peaceful, which made it easy to enjoy a conversation.
If you’re in the area and looking for a reliable spot for American fare, Four Winds is worth a visit. I’d definitely go back.
I took off 1 star solely for the fact that they need cleaner bathrooms.
In a customer service business your goal is to make sure people are happy and not draw negative reviews.
At the 35 yrs I’ve spent in a customer based business it was our practice to make sure everyone was happy, regardless of our personal feelings.
Now based on the amount of people NOT in there , and the previous /recent bad reviews of poorly cooked food, especially steaks , (read for yourselves) plus several clients of my own who recently told me their similar stories, they should be looking to keep customers , not argue with them.
At the end of the day I made sure the bartender was still tipped over 20% and paid the bill , but the more people I speak to the more I realize this is a common problem there.
2 prime ribs were ordered. They were so fatty, they were inedible. I got a burger. It was ok. The sodas weren’t free refills and nobody said anything. They just filled our glasses. Nobody compensated us. The check was very expensive and we didn’t even eat. I will NEVER go back.
