Good food, great service and friendly wait staff. Classic diner atmosphere inside and outside.

First time I have ever been there. The food was good. Had an omelette with hash browns. Usually omelettes in restaurants are greasy but this wasn’t which was nice. Hash browns were crispy but not burned. Service was just right, attentive but not overwhelming. Prices were reasonable. It honestly had a NYC vibe at the counter where we sat. The owner was even circulating around checking on customers. About the only complaint I have is that place, while clean, has a slight run down feel to it. Could definitely use some repair and sprucing up. Also note, we were there at lunch on a Sunday. The place was packed. The counter was all that was available but it sufficed even for a really big guy like me.

I asked my girlfriend who lives in Decatur to pick a nice place to have breakfast. I live in Lincoln. I asked her what was the name of the restaurant not far from the Bingo Hall. I looked on line & realized it was this place. We got there @ 9:10 & my friend seeing thevparking lot was packed thought we might want to go elsewhere so I went insidevto see what was the wait. Luckily they had a few places. I picked this place to take my girlfriend to breakfast for her birthday before going a short distance to play Bingo.
At first I was a little salty cause I was seated in the back by the restrooms. Once the waitress expressed my disappointment the owner personally came over & nicely apologized & offered us seating elsewhere. He was very nice but I assured him we were okay. I am just picky where I sit.
That said the food & the service were both superb !!! Plenty /Hot & SUPERB !!! I was impressed. The owner came back during our meal to make sure everything was well & chatted with us. The place was packed !!! This folks is its own testament to superb/ excellent food & service.
This has become my NEW favorite place to eat when in Decatur / Mt. Zion. Go there folks !! I promise from the time you are seated til you leave it’s all about you !!!!

Overall, a good place to grab some flavorful breakfast! Food is solid, coffee is decent, service is friendly and fast.

Cool atmosphere with vintage feel. The double-walled/insulated coffee cups are interesting, but they keep the coffee waaaay too hot to drink for far too long, so it’s tough to get through a cup before your food is eaten.

It was alright. Packed house so people oblivious are okay with the food but it was expensive for what was otherwise pretty basic and somewhat bland. Seems to be the trend for a lot of restaurants lately.

I wouldn’t come back unless they made improvements towards either the value or the quality of the dish that you get because unfortunately they are not in sync right now.

Info: Party of three. Two pancakes, two pieces of toast, three eggs, some bacon and some sausage with hash browns and a drink a person was $45 out the door.

Go to this restaurant and hit the trifecta.
In 1st place / Good Food
2nd place / Friendly Service
3rd place / Great Atmosphere
As you see in the pictures the building looks like an old fashion diner. The night I was there was Sunday evening and they had a car show in the parking lot. So that just added to the atmosphere of the place. You would have to check with them I don’t know if it’s a weekly thing or just a special.

Went there last week. Been years since we’ve been there. To start off, when walking in, the doors were nasty dirty as was the entryway. Immediately went to bathroom to wash hands!! The food (we got the ribeye dinner) was good, however the lettuce for the salad looked old and was turning brown.
Overall, good atmosphere, great waitress. They just need to keep it a bit cleaner. Restaurants should be clean when you walk in. Will not go back to to how dirty the restaurant was.

They have specials every night and a menu menu that goes from salads & fruit plates to sandwiches to full meals. They have excellent and reasonably priced prime rib on Monday night with 2 sides and it is worth the drive from Springfield. They have a 12 and 16 oz size and I think the 16 was only 3 or 4 $ more. It has the old diner look from the outside and inside.
