Had lunch at the Foundry Bakehouse with a Build Your Own sandwich. Ciabatta Bread, Ham, Swiss Cheese and Mayo. Everything was great, bread was fresh and the protein was high quality. For desert I had an M&M cookie that was fresh and soft just out of the oven. Great place for lunch in Albion

Sour cream donut…..I have no words. It was so good. I got it multiple times. I don’t know what magic they use to make such a hometown shop full of so many delicious types of donuts, but you can tell it’s the local hangout. Everyone knows each other’s names and greets you with a wave. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face anytime colleagues showed up with a box with your name on it. Don’t think twice, go here, your heart and stomach will thank you.

My son and I visited the bakery for the first time today. We got there at 10:30 and discovered that we were too late for breakfast and too early for lunch–which is fair. BUT when someone working in the kitchen overheard us, they said they would be happy to make us a breakfast sandwich. So kind!! Everything was homemade from the biscuit to the eggs (both of which were excellent). I got some goodies to take home, and they, too, are outstanding! The orange/chocolate cookie was good, the apple caramel muffin was great (super moist, light, and tender), but the pineapple fritter was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I am a lover of apple fritters, so I had to try it. It wasn’t that the pineapple made it great–you could have put anything in this thing and it would be great. The fritter itself was the lightest, crispiest, tenderest I’ve ever eaten. Sweet but not cloying.

The workers here were very friendly and helpful. There are bagels, donuts, bread and more options. The food was really good. Not the best I’ve had, but much better than I was expecting for a small city like Albion.
