Went to Founders House last night with my husband for dinner. I had the Angel Hair Piedmontese and he had the Fish and Chips. We felt the food was very overpriced for the quality. The meals were pretty basic, nothing special. Drinks and service were good. Nice atmosphere. Overall I didn’t love it and probably wouldn’t go back, but maybe their nicer seafood dishes are a better bang for your buck.

Founders house is an upscale restaurant. I’ve been going here for years and the service is hit or miss. Service is hit or miss – If you sit in the bar area service is definitely better than the dining area. It is always very busy. Wish they extended their hours so they were open later. Sometimes they are open later nights than others, seems inconsistent and wish they updated their hours on Google to reflect correctly.

The food is consistent and very good. You get what you pay for here. I typically get the chicken which is phenomenal and an espresso martini which depending on the bartender can vary. Overall, if you’re looking for a nice dinner, I would recommend this place. You can’t go wrong.

My husband took me here for our first wedding anniversary, and we had a lovely experience. For appetizers we got the think cut candied bacon chop, the roasted blue point oysters trio, and the creamy seafood bisque. All of these were delicious, especially the bacon chop: easily the best I’ve ever had, delicious candied glaze. For entrees, I got the Berkshire pork chop, which also had an absolutely delectable glaze and was so juicy. My husband got the pan-seated scallops, and he loved them. Finally, we got the carrot cake for two, but it should have been called the carrot cake for four since it was huge! Very yummy frosting. The restaurant was very clean with friendly staff. The price was expensive but we knew that coming in, and the food definitely justifies the price. The literal only complaint I have is that even though we had a reservation, it took a while for anyone to come and take our drink order and get us started. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic anniversary here and definitely want to come back to try other items on the menu. I highly recommend this spot for a special occasion!

Came here for the first time because my girlfriend wanted Alaskan king crab legs for her birthday. They advertise “Colossal” Alaskan King crab legs. What a joke. These were the skinniest king crab legs we ever ordered from anywhere and for $175. Definitely don’t order them from here. Not worth the money. False advertising. Manager wouldn’t discount them. Pretty much said, take it or leave it. Won’t be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The place is really nice, and I was seated right away. The waitress was helpful, kind and patient. The whole waitstaff was nice, and I commend them because I watched some out of control crazy loudmouth lady completely berate a couple of them because she felt the music was too loud. The gentleman she was with looked defeated, and the staff moved her seat and handled her beautifully.
The food was timely and had some flavor to it!

Writing a review because we gave the place a second chance due to really poor service last time when it was a slow Sunday afternoon and the waitress was extremely rude to us and for no reason and neglectful the whole time where we had to go find her twice.

This time we sat at the bar- granted it was a busy Saturday evening. But the barmaid only came to check on us once our meals were completely finished. We wanted to get her attention to get another drink and something for our meal but we were so completely ignored the whole time. Not sure we will go again- I can’t stand that bad of service.

Always enjoy every experience we have at Founders house! We started with the escargot which was juicy and tender and filled with flavor! I got the lobster roll and upgraded to the truffle parm fries while my husband got the stuffed shrimp! Both dishes were very good!

Stopped in for early dinner as our first time. Patio seating was really nice and the service was great, though admittedly the dinner crowd hadn’t shown up yet. Everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked exactly to order. The ribeye was a really good cut, marbled with fat.

Great spot, accessible to all folks since they have an elevator to get inside. Started with French onion soup, which was the BEST I’ve ever eaten. My ribeye steak was SUPERB, cooked perfectly! The NE warm lobster roll was amazing also. Glass of Malbec suggested by Tonya rounded it out. It was my birthday and it was WELL spent! WELL worth time and money spent. Happy birthday to me!

They have done a nice job remodeling the restaurant. There are a lot of things to choose frim on the menu but the items are pricey. The presentation of the food is nice but the food itself could have been better. The fried fish batter was soft not crispy. The shrimp stuffing had too much lemon flavor.
