First, you’ll have to find it! Foundation Coffee is located behind Home Goods and DFW in the loading docks zone of the plaza. This is the only entrance. After being led astray by other navigation apps we finally found it thanks to Google Maps.
The cafe is spacious with high ceilings, lots of tables and counter space for dining in (even a small private dining area for lunch meetings) and a modern industrial vibe with wood and metal fittings.
The food and coffee are incredible and will keep me coming back for sure. I tried the seasonal maple cinnamon latte and have to say it is probably the best maple latte I’ve ever had. Rich, redolent of maple syrup, yet not overly sweet, with just a touch of cinnamon on the finish. So good!
Since it was lunch time, I also had their signature BLT, which features delicious thick cut bacon and is served on a soft warm bread roll. Easily topping most of the BLT offerings locally imo.
As if that’s not enough, there are a wide array of pastries to choose from if you’re looking for something sweet and snackish. I had the strawberry scone and, while I’m not sure I’d call it a scone, it is definitely delicious! Think extra buttery biscuit with a strawberry pie center filling – fabulous!
Service is friendly and efficient. When you order you’re given a buzzer which will go off when your order is ready so you don’t have to do that awkward standing around waiting thing. Do ask about seasonal specialties, I would’ve have had the maple latte if I hadn’t asked and it was so worth it!
If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite, it’s well worth the effort of locating this coffee shop! Highly recommend!

I had the chance to try their lovely coffee and I wasn’t disappointed. Coffee was so good, the barista was so friendly and knowledgeable talking about the coffee beans. The espresso is a fantastic choice I made. Great ambience and quite place to study or read with a lovely coffee ☕️

The Americano, oat milk cappuccino, and regular coffee were great, but the almond croissant was unique and by far the best I’ve had. The place is a hidden gem yet had almost full occupancy. We also bought coffee beans to try at home.

This place is beautiful, albeit a little tricky to find if you’re not from the area. The coffee was great. Their menu is minimal, but I feel it’s on purpose as what they offer they do well. I got a cold brew, which I made the mistake of adding half and half to. Just drink it black! My nephew got an iced vanilla latte and it was really good. The only complaint is that the croissant needed to be warmed. Glad I stopped in on my road trip!

Some of the best coffee in the northern Virginia area. Impeccably pulled espresso shots and a lovely additional touch is the big window into where this place roasts their coffee in-house. Service is always quick and there is a ton of communal-style seating great for socializing or working. This time I also got the crumb cake which was one of the best coffee shop pastries I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly sweet and crumbly. A must-visit in Fairfax!!

Horrible service. Great coffee! Horrible service. When I ordered I was talking to a machine I guess. Then I asked for a little more oat milk to my coffee (which I guess is annoying- oh no) and again, no words. I said please and thank you. Then I got hungry and I saw that they were eating papa johns in here so I went out and got daves and came back. Guy comes up to me and says no outisde food here. Which I understand because most places are like that, but hey man! You’re eating papa johns! Cool place to study but maybe don’t make it feel like a prison

That rare, uncompromising kind of quality you almost never find.
A sanctuary for specialty coffee—where you can discover its nuances, talk with an owner who’s always open to conversation, and leave with freshly roasted beans singing of their origin.
Thank you to the team, and to Hae, for creating this place.

Was pleasantly surprised by the coffee shop. It is on the back side of a shopping center so a little hard to find at first. It does get busy so parking can get limited. It appears to a limited menu but everything was delicious. I loved how their coffee for dine in was served in ceramic mugs. The attention to details with design was nice. This is a great place to work and enjoy coffee. Was afraid it was going to be loud because of the industrial interior and happy that it was NOT loud! Definitely recommend and give it a solid 8/10 review!

I would say the drinks and space are fine. The bagels for the sandwiches are like rubber. The mango yogurt (dessert) is okay to me. I wonder why the reviews were good. Not recommended to eat there. But definitely enjoy drinking coffee and work there.

Red Ninjago coffee shop. I was able to get a bit of the pre-roasted whole bean coffee and it’s been really great. My wife and I are big fans of the cappuccino and hot chocolate. Thanks!
